I need a bolt I don't think exists.

Maybe even smarter and much easier. 2.25" tube with a -20 inlet at least 1/2" deep, and -20 male end about 1/4" long as shows on the bolt i posted. I would have to measure the diameter of the flow hole and the eyelet for total diameter.
This, because you need the support and seal for the bolt and tube eyelet. Then another seal for the spacer and carb.

Wouldn't be too difficult to make with a lathe, tap and die (of the size and thread required). 360brass would be easier than stainless.

If I were close I'd give it a shot but alas, I'm in Canada.

I would want to know if the aircleaner would even go on with this big fuel inlet knob sticking out before proceeding any further. ( which is doubtful)

I guess I don't understand the desire to retain a banjo fitting even though it may require making a one-off bolt . It seems like a -6 AN to 5/8 in-20 fitting , a -6 90 degree hose end, a short length of -6 hose and a straight fitting to connect the fuel filter and .....done. All readily available parts. Air cleaner clearance may be an issue.

Probably doesn’t matter anymore. Pretty sure the air cleaner won’t clear. Won’t be sure until tomorrow. But my friend has a bender and flare tool so likely just going to give up on this and go custom. I need a 5/16 -20 fitting for that project yeah?

Not trying to be a smart *** but this design was for a reason.

You didn’t say where are your fuel line is hitting the intake, if you put a half inch spacer under the carb, would it give you the necessary clearance?

I bent up the 3/8" line in first photo. No work of art but safe and practical. This photo is a 5/16" line with vapor separator i bent up; safe and practical.

I have no idea what I am looking at here as far as what this line came from. The setup my car came with certainly does not look anything like what you show here. My line splits halfway down the valve cover into a junction that fed to both inlets on the Holley DP. Fuel section of the manual has no illustrations of lines so I assumed given my car's performance package it was stock. If it's not stock, and they decided to run a dual feed for whatever reason, just removing and blocking the front feed still doesn't leave me with a line that reaches the AVS2 inlet. What is this, a line for a Carter?

I would be perfectly happy to just install the line you have if I knew what it was and it came with the proper fitting for the AVS2 inlet (20 TPI).

Here are the lines I have. The two L shaped ones go to the car and come together on that brass block, which connects to the long line. The shorts double hoes end went to the other ends of the long line to the pump. The rubber just happened to sit next to the feed line making it look like 3 pieces but it's 4 pieces.

Ok this post came in after I replied. Yeah I am going to do the same thing now that I have access to tools. Just need to find the correct fitting for the AVS2 inlet.

Not even close. That is also where the coil is mounted. I had a photo somewhere but we got a load of snow last night and I have to go deal with that now with a torn ankle otherwise I would dig it up. It's gonna be a great day!

A picture of what you're doing would be a big help. Your fuel lines in the picture don't look like anything I've ever used or seen.

That's all castoff anyway. Just running vapor separator to an AVS 2 on a 383 now and giving up on the initial plan and bending my own line. Done and done. Appreciate all the help on this thread from everyone though. Personally I enjoy trying to figure these things out and would have liked to use that 8131 line but Ramcharger was right. Not possible.

I live in the north metro, I spent the day on the road with amnesia patients. Apparently everyone has forgotten that heavy snow can be slippery. I saw a bunch of spin outs and a couple minor fender benders. FML…

No surprises there. The metro has gotten exponentially worse year by year since I got there in the 90s. And when you get out of the metro it’s always some cowboy in a lifted truck tailgating people just trying to drive safely. Can’t win.

This is all I need to slide onto the 5/16 hard line and flare, then it will connect to the carb, correct? Which has the same setup as the original Carter AVS I believe.

Carter AFB AVS TQ 5/8-20 Brass Fuel Inlet Fitting 5/16" Inverted Flare:

BUT I am using the vapor separator.

The manual DOES NOT specify what size the inlet return and outlet lines are in section 14-103 Fig 9 or in any of the text on nearby pages. I believe this is correct:
Inlet from tank 5/16
Return 1/4
Outlet to carb 3/8

So I HAVE to convert my final feed line to 3/8 to use the vapor separator, correct? I can't just use 5/16 from VS tot he carb? In which case I require this fitting:

Carter AFB AVS TQ 5/8-20 x 5/8-18 Brass Fuel Inlet Fitting 3/8" Inverted Flare:

I am confused because this preformed line only mentions 5/16:

If anyone wants to reach through the screen and strangle me go ahead I want to strangle myself too.

You can run 5/16 line from the separator to the carb. It will take a little more effort to get the 5/16 rubber hose connection over a 3/8 hose barb, but then you’re good to go…

Yes. Brutality. This will be the way.

And this for the pump to the VS
