I think I bought another Corvette.

I have never owned anything other than Mopars. My whole family has worked for GM or Ford for decades . I am the only Mopar fan in my Family. Although, my Son and now Son-in-law have bought Mopars, so I am passing the torch. S-in-L's Duster.
However, a C2 or chrome bumper C3 for the right price I would buy.

I restored mine starting about 35 years ago and finished after about 5 or 6. It’s an original L72 car but lost its original engine and has a 427 4 bolt block with 12:1 pistons, 256/266 .600 solid cam, closed chamber L88 heads and a stock L72 intake which performs much better on the street than the L88 intake that was on it until 2 years ago. Also a reworked TI distributor and 800 cfm Holley. The rear is still a 4:11 posi and a few years ago I built up a M22Wide ratio using a new AutoGear case and internals. I did most of the work except trailing arm and steering box rebuild.

I just finished this up earlier this year. 1967 427 4-spd Tri-power 400hp with A/C. I did pretty much everything except take the body off of the frame and I probably should have just gone that far.
Complete interior. Repaint. The 427 was blown back in the day and now sports a 1974 454 LS-7. I built it with a big roller cam and ported Snowflake heads. The Tri-power is choking the hell out it.
New clutch, new Muncie M-22, new bigger axles, new mono leaf spring, front and rear suspension. All new interior and added electric windows, etc, etc. Fixed a bunch of butchered stuff and a ton of cleaning and detail work.

My high-school dream car. I had removable hardtop on the list. Those bad boys were $3,500 back in the late 70s when we were buying muscle cars for $1,000 or less. Beautiful ride and the right color!

I've always made money on Vettes. If I make money on those I can finish the others. I think I'll make $20 large on the '66.

Yes '71 had the special John Deere package. My idea is you make money buying a car not selling it. I believe I bought it right.

Corvettes are wonderful - have power/can make power like a musclecar AND have brakes and can turn a corner. Dad had a 66 L79 roadster when I was a kid and I've had a couple of 3rd gen cars - a 70 both top car and a 73 coupe - in the past. Sure wish I could afford a midyear, but not likely to ever happen... :(

I had the same philosophy flipping houses. I've always said that you make or lose money the day you buy it. If you have the right plan, you'll make it. To make $20k you must be buying it right. That car looks solid from here. Will you do paint? What else?

I have 3 Gm cars. The 58 is a fuel injection car. Will keep it Got it from a friend. The XLR caddy was also a deal I couldn’t refuse.

I like the Gen2 Corvettes the best.....but were not Corvettes made to be powerful AND have good brakes and turn corners? That is why they were so expensive! I was amazed when I looked at the sticker price in 66 when I first went into a Chevy dealership until I did some research on them. Same holds true today imo. Anyways, I'm sorta impressed on the new ones but still like the G2 cars....

I'll do brakes they always freeze up. Replace all the fluids. Take the plugs out and put Marvel oil in the cylinders. I'm very torn about painting it. Maybe I should borescope it before the oil. Do any parts stores have those for rent?
