I think we need to send parts in a solid box

I like to order my dishes pre-broken. My wife's throwing arm has been bothering her and it saves her from throwing dishes at me when I spend too much time working on the cars in the shop. She'll just place the pre-broken dish on my head while I sleep instead of throwing it at me in the kitchen after dinner. She appreciates that I look out for her like this. USPS doesn't even charge extra for the broken dishes when I select that option upon ordering. God bless mama. I love that woman.

I had a tool that I purchased sent back to the sender for no reason. Went to the post office and they printed 3 sheets of info and basically it was a computer generated return. WTF?

My how things have changed in the transportation business. When I started in 1977, the only tractor trailer job I could get was over the road with a moving van, and I had to work as an independent contractor, driving an agent owned rig. I was financially responsible for cargo damage - the first $500 of any claim came out of my settlement check. You can be assured I was way more careful than the clowns behind the wheel today.

We periodically order online from the Jungle website and the Chinese superstore. If an item arrives damaged and it's under a certain dollar amount they just tell us to keep the item and they refund the $. This even happens when we request a return if we aren't satisfied with an item as well. We were surprised when we first were made aware of this. Probably due to cost of return shipping for something they can't resell. It's very convenient however that's a lot of trust in the customer. I can see how that can easily be abused.

For over the last 25 years I've shipped hundreds of packages every year via USPS, FedEx and YRC. I pack everything so that it will survive at least a 6' drop. Anything long needs reinforcements. I double box fragile things. I rarely use those stupid foam peanuts. My buddy sells hot tub covers and gives me the big cardboard boxes and then I can make my own boxes. I've had really good success over the years. I've seen too many times where something is poorly packaged and then easily destroyed by the shippers who can be rough on stuff to begin with.

Damn shame.. Parts survive 50 years in the wild... Five days with virtually any postal carrier & it gets damaged..... I'll agree there are times when better packaging would have helped... But there are times when it just doesn't matter...
Check out this psycho...

I kinda understand this guy. Effing pumpkins all over the steps.

My wife is constantly putting stuff on steps. I beg her not to do it as I know it’s probably how I’m going to die.

My stupid neighbor lady does the same thing and I have to carry her 99 lb boxes of kitty litter down the steps for her.

Posted recently that I fell downstairs from junk on them. Could killed or a quadriplegic it was that bad.

I'm currently dealing with an delivery that was damaged.... Been getting jerked around for over a month... $1000 item stuffed in a box with zero packaging & imagine that it arrived damaged...

I sent a Leece-Neville alternator for rebuild, built a 3/4" plywood box with instructions on how to open and a letter stating not to paint it or change the look. I cut a relief for the shipping address and covered it with plexiglass, return label on other side of shipping label. They rebuilt it, painted it panzer tank grey, couldn't figure out how to put the box back together (or didn't care) threw it all in a cardboard box and sent it back. It fell out of a destroyed cardboard box on my steps and I contacted the company immediately. They sent me a shipping label, stripped the paint and returned it in the plywood box and refunded my money. No matter how careful you can be they can be just as uncaring.

Anvil breakers. They're everywhere.

I know somebody that received a broken HEMI head. I’m not sure that I could intentionally break one without a 12 pound maul…

I made a crate out of OSB and 2x4’s to ship the trunk finish panel for my GTX to Paul’s chrome, it came back in a cardboard box with expanding foam. Fortunately it was intact, but the potential risk of damage was pretty high.

I've posted this before - this box contained specialty chocolates - sent from a factory only 4 hours away. There is a boot print on the carton.
There is no way that can be called accidental. That company no longer provides service to the Chocolate Factory following mine and several other complaints.
It was fortunate for me that the contents were protected by copious amounts of quality bubble-wrap.

I will NEVER, NEVER, NEVER use FedEx to ship anything. THE WORST. Guaranteed breakage. I've had decent experience with mostly UPS, but also with USPS.

That guy needs to be fired and now!

I've actually used my sheet metal brake to make boxes lol

Oh man, it didn't matter what I told my XX 2 wife.....she was going to do what she wanted! She planted some plants that made these white flowers AT THE FRONT DOOR that did nothing but make me sneeze....but did she remove them? Hell no....but after she left, the first freeze took them out! :D

Got a box one time that had a tire print on the box from a forking tool rolling on the corner of it.....couldn't believe the stuff inside escaped the chaos!

It looks like the foot of a disgruntled FBBO member!

I got this rare NOS 1961 FURY grille off eBay.
61 grilles use kinda of a odd shaped box.
The seller had BENT the ends of grille over to fit into a smaller box. Probably to save on shipping?$& @$$
