I don't think it's illegal to sell a VIN plate/tag. The part that absolutely becomes illegal is the swapping out of the VIN plate.

I'm sure this won't ruffle any feathers until someone follows through with swapping it onto another car.

I can totally see how creating a 318 Coronet 500 2 dr HT would be worth the risk.

But: havent "WE" all been told that it is illegal to sell a VIN tag?

Oh well, I just thought it was illegal and threw it out as a "Gee...look what I found someone doing"
LOL

Yeah, my feathers dont gert ruffled any more, they are just about all gone up top!
LOL

State of Wisconsin it is illegal to tamper with or modify any VIN tag........removing it or installing it would fit that bill. Completely illegal.

Leave it to a Wisconsinite, darn long winters. He's just trying to get money to fill is heating oil tank.

LOL! you're probably right. I see it more and more around here.....cars getting fewer and far between, so out comes the die grinder to remove and replace the stamped areas and a drill to the VIN rivets

Hey guys, where can one buy the "stock replacement" rivets so one can install a in tag. Lol. JK.

Looks to be attached to the dash frame so it would be legal here in WI.
