If this is worth 110k then I am in the wrong business?!?!?

The prices some people are putting on cars these days represents to me them saying "Lets see what kind of stupid sucker exists out there". P.T. Barnum's quote is "There's a sucker born every minute". Hopefully folks will just start saying no!

Quality resto work is super expensive not for the timid and I don't doubt this amount of cash could have been dropped. Over the years I've had my car I estimate around 50 grand with about $30k of this dropped this year. This doesn't count my time 100's of hours in it that otherwise would have been billed at shop rates. Problem is it's worth what someone will pay for it. Most stories I hear the seller came up short then a few where a profit was gained.

They always say don't build a car unless your in love with it because it is cheaper to buy one done. I restore, paint, etc myself and it would be pretty common for me to break even at most on some of the cars.

I know a local shop they built a Chevy something they bought it for $12000 already restored put air ride on it changed the wheels and a few other little things and sold the thing for $78000 ! Wtf

No need to fret, it won't sell anywhere near 110 large. In fact, that car won't even sell for the starting bid.

He is proud of his door jambs!! ... car does look good, but for $100k build i wouldn't expect source heads, pypes/flowmaster exhaust .... no shoulder belts either ..... heavy police wheels .... a/c not installed ..... you get the point !

No fretting Mr. Cranium....more like laughing and chuckling aloud!:lol:

I just like to bring these up from time to time for entertainment value.

He is just checking to see what his car is worth....many do. If he was serious to get that much money for his car, he would have at least dusted it off. Overall, pretty nice looking car.

Any thing is possible. At Barrett a 57 Chevy 4 door small block with purple paint, flames, baby moon chrome wheels and fuzzy dice sold for $110K !! I was like WTF ?? But someone wanted it and was willing to pay.

yup, some people have FU money

He just wants to show off his car and you are helping him by posting it here. He may get some chebby or ferd guy suckered in.
Yeah its high...but the ad is free...

He is trying to get out of it what he put into it which isn't going to happen. It does look nice but not even $65k nice. Door plugs missing, fuel gauge wire laying in trunk. And as much as he harps on epoxy this, hand sand that, there is a nice patch of grey primer showing under the deck lid. Maybe a $45k car?

Price check on isle 3

Forget the price for a moment.
That is a great looking car. The color is unusual, I have not seen many painted that color. The bodywork looks great. I don't think the SE trim looks right in there but overall, I like the look of the car. People get dollar signs in their eyes when it comes to the 68-70 Chargers.

I find it interesting {funny} that some think because
they spent $100,000to build it
it's resale value is somehow worth $100,000,
well maybe it could be, if it was the correct parts
right type of parts
right type of engine, trans, rear etc. etc. etc.

I guess anything is possible at auction,
but I wouldn't pay anywhere near what he thinks it's worth
I don't care how much he has in it, it was built to his taste,
not for a big $$$$ high end resale, Maybe a $40,000
the Gen 2 Chargers are bringing a crazy premium lately,
BUT not that "bat **** crazy price"
it ain't Hemi car, it ain't even a 4 speed car...

It ain't really even a quality restoration or build, mixed match parts
& I'm a day 2 type guy....

I've seen "junk" sell for far more than I like too.
at-least it's not a rusted out hull & total ****...
Just way over priced... 2-3 times over...

Looks like a tight job to me. Glasurit & Sikkens ARE superior material lines & they are not cheap.
I've done Glasso top coat systems, & both Sikkens & Glasso polyester spray fillers & primers, all with excellent results & hold out.
These days howeve, for substrate prep i go epoxy all the way through....self etching epoxy sealer over metal ground in 40....sand that with 80 without breaking or respray broken areas, then epoxy filler that i mix myself with epoxy res/cat,, 1/32" milled fibres, & cab-o-sil(fumed silica) for the body work(finished in 120), then self etching epoxy primer, primed & block sanded 2-3 times. 1st blocking in 120 dry, 2nd in 220 wet & third usually in 360-400 wet for solvent borne topcoats. Waterborne color base coats require substrate be sanded to a minimum of 1000.
Any way, this Guy used no **** materials....way superior to PPG.
That car has a lot of time in it.
I don't like the ride heighth,, needs to be dropped over the rubber for my taste.

How proud is he? There are gouges in the body work there, which to me is evidence of an amount of bondo there. The angles also look like there is sanded plastic there too. And they didn't even bother to clean the dust off that quarter window seal at the top of the jamb. But there are pluses to his work just not at this price. I look at small details on high priced cars, this one is unrealistically priced
