I'm 50 so I had some blood tests done....

Good news on all the test results and do have the PSA and Colonoscopy done just for piece of mind.
just got done with my yearly PSA and turning 70 this year on my last colposcopy the Dr. asked if I wanted to watch and I told him I see enough butt holes everyday and no need to see another one.

When you get your physical...make sure the doc doesn't have both hand on your shoulders for that check!
Never let age get the best of you! I'm 52 and teach high school P.E. I never let them get me no matter how bad it hurts the next day! All a state of mind. Keep the doc appointments and checks, great first round of numbers and more to come. Keep the exercise going..
I agree, the old saying use it or loose it holds true. Once you start telling yourself "I'm getting to old for this" and start slacking off running, lifting and playing with the kids the next thing you know you really can't do it. Live hard, play harder!

Glad to hear it came back clean, keep on it.

Colonoscopy is a must! A buddy of mine when he was in his late 40s thought he had a hemorrhoid, now he poops in a bag strapped to his waist. All clear for me at 53, 10 years to the next one, and I got a contract to service their 2 locations medical equipment! Lol.

50 years old? Your still a young man. I was still going strong at 50 and hold my own now at 64 although the knees are bad. The thing is early prevention,so you need to get the PSA and let the doc check your prostate. I go to the cardiologist every 6 months and my GP every 6 months,i still need to loose weight and exercise more but other than that I'm ok. My biggest issue right now is my teeth. All my back teeth are starting to develop issues as a result of deep fillings. Ive lost some of them and its becoming a problem. Are you coming to the show in July??

I love all these treads about medical BS on FBBO

yes we're an older batch it seems like

I'm not really into hearing about peoples butt & prostate exams

although I do all the precautionary stuff too

I also rarely take medical advice off the -www-, bunch of loons...LOL
a bunch of car dudes or let alone a car forum, I prefer a professional...

albeit it's good advice in this case

Just look back to make sure you're the only one in the room pulling up his pants after the physical!

And like 73 Hemi said - PSA test is a must once you turn 50. Some docs don't check the box because the test has a high degree of false positives. Mine did and it saved my life. On a normal scale of 0 - 4 my PSA was a 77!

" Are you coming to the show in July??"
Hey Steve. Not sure if you knew I live in California...It sure would be a long drive to get there!

Steve, I was at the Mopar Nationals (Ohio) in 2004, the year of the Charger. I loved it!
What I find amazing is that with all the talk about California having such a "rich" car culture, the car shows out here are small compared to the 2 main Mopar shows back East. In 2004, I counted 224 Chargers at the show in ONE day! Our Mopar show in Sacramento is lucky to get 220 cars total. The swap meet in 2004 was mind boggling. I didn't watch much of the racing because I was just in awe of the magnitude of the show cars, the swap, the vendors...

I was at the Southern CA Spring Fling a week and a half ago. By far the most enjoyable part of these shows (Especially those taking place for multiple days) is the chatting with other Mopar enthusiasts! The cars are great but I really like hearing of other guys projects, road trips and telling a few of my own. After awhile, you see many of the same faces and get to catch up on things that are hard to tell through a computer!

Regarding AARP, yeah, they are bombarding me with emails for "exclusive offers" for all sorts of stuff now.

IM a card carrying member of AARP. LOL!!! I recall when i hit my fifties i got mail from AARP wanting me to join, very depressing LOL. Actually there magazine has some great articles. This month Sally Field is on the cover and at 69 years old she is as beautiful as ever.

The wife and daughter thought is was hilarious when they put an AARP membership in my 50th BD card.,,,,,,,,,,,NOT.I'm 58 and lost he back door virginity and doing all the doctors now that I got the insuranceFull physical,Uro ,pedio, cardio,,,,,,,the full monte.
That sitting on the throne for hours was crazy.Talk about a cleansing!!!

Well I finally got off my butt on got the colonoscopy done, I turned 53 in September. Prep wasn't much fun, but not as horrible as I've heard in the rumor mills. They found a 1/2 dozen small polyps but they didn't think there's any issue. Since my mom has had some and very recently my younger brother had a couple, it was expected to find some. I should hear the results back in a week. I wished they'd have kept me out a few seconds more as I think I was feeling the snake coming out of the drain as I woke up, lol. So if you have been putting it off DONT, it's not a big deal. Stay healthy all. and to all that are dealing with health issues, my prayers for a speedy recovery. Keep fighting the good fight.

Nothing better than a good cleanse now and then, I must get a colonoscopy every year, lost a brother at 39 years old. :(

Sorry to hear that. That sucks when something like that hits someone younger when it would not be expected.
