I'm buying one of these oil drain plug tools.

You should try using WD-40 to fry your food like @bobtile does...

Does it still "taste like chicken"?:wtf:

Some of you need more convincing. Others like to get their hands dirty, I get that, too. Me, I'm one of those "gadget guys". I like oil filter wrenches, too.

I worked for Lisle Corp. for several years. They manufacture specialty tools and "gadgets" and are known world wide. They manufacture tools for several companies such as " Snap On". These "gadgets " are used by even the best and most manliest mechanics there are...no " wusses" in that bunch !!!!!!!( humor intended)...................................MO

Here ten minutes on how to cut up t-shirts.
Helpful hint.
Some things absorb better than others.
Avoid synthetic fabrics. And your wife's stuff.
(Unless she says so.)

10 minutes to show how to cut up a t-stirt in hanky sized rags?

I change my oil er the car's oil when it's hot....and that means the car is at full temp. The oil comes out faster that way plus any impurities that the filter doesn't catch are suspended in the oil....right? Gloves? Heeelll yeah. That dang stuff is hot and don't wanna burn my purdy hands! :D Before an oil change, I have a 'beverage' then pull the drain plug. While the oil is draining, another beverage is had....then maybe another while waiting for the oil to drip off all the internals of the engine. By then, maybe another beverage or tow is had and while downin it, take a look at way ahhppenen on FBBOo. Be time fo anutter break en finis da chain tamarra.

Not to mention that when you have latex gloves on, the drain plug is even slipperier than handling it with your bare hand. I've done a couple oil changes and used the tool. Works great!

No latex for oil changes.....just an old pair of well oiled leather ones.

Just Move fast and you don't even need gloves lol
I keep a rag close just in case it gets me
But most of the time I don't need it.

With gloves, ya don't have to worry about moving fast....and when you get old, moving fast isn't always an option lol

With gloves I usually drop the bolt in the pan or dirt because I can't get a good grip
On it
I will use a rag on the filter
Gloves are for umm
I don't want to offend the weak lol

The only time I ever wore gloves when working on a car was when I helped my buddy change his trans in the driveway at 10 degrees.

I try to change oil when car is warm for better draining out gunk that might be in bottom of pan but not hot enough to boil flesh.

It would be useful for someone that worked at a quick lube shop that did oil changes all day.
Just something else for them to fu\\up. They can see the drain plugs in place how many will know if that valves closed.
Real obvious you have never worked a lube rack.
