I purchased a radiator support to hood seal from Classic Industries several days ago. When it arrived, I found that the attaching holes were punched incorrectly so they didn't align with the mounting holes. I contacted them and got a Return Authorization and spent $7.00 to return it. A few days later I received a partial refund for the part only, not the $9.95 shipping or the $7.00 return shipping. When I inquired about why I should pay for the shipping of an incorrectly made part they gave me a link to their return policy. I didn't see any reference to defective parts. Guess they don't get any...Yes, I know I could have re-punched the mounting holes, but figured why not let them get it right?
At any rate, this is my response to them:

Ms. Ruelas,
Let me understand this: You send me a DEFECTIVE part; that is, it wasn't made correctly so it won't fit my vehicle, and I have to pay shipping both ways to return it? What kind of customer service is that?

I am a very active member of FBBO.com and will insure that all members know of this totally unfair policy. In addition to that, please remove me from your customer list as I won't be buying anything else from Classic Industries or recommending your site. In this day and age, with so many sources available on the net I would think that you would take better care of the customers you have.

Take your bitch to the BBB, I bet you'll get the answer you want to hear and looking for instead of raggin about it on a car forum.

When I want your opinion, I'll ask for it. Until then I'd appreciate it if you'd STFU...

I never purchase anything from CI or YO anymore....Due to many reasons....Including your situation I have experienced the same from them....

Jaime at MEGA PARTS is the man, has the same parts and has normal shipping costs....I can return anything for an account credit or if defective as in your case, full refund!.....He is 100% for the customer....

The BBB is a joke. They have no power to do anything. All the member has to do is say thats their policy and the case is closed.

Wow ! I've literally spent thousands with them & never a problem. Guess i've been lucky in not needing to return anything. I'd be ticked too. They should pay the ride for their screw up. Even if they aren't the .manufacturer.

I could always find the same part cheaper somewhere else. Twice I bought from them because they were the only one that had the part in stock.

What does STFU mean?

Fuggggggg

Classic industries

I was done with them jag offs 9 months ago myself!

i just spent many years and LOTS of hours getting my business stuff in order to become an Accredited Remodeling Company. The application was arduous and VERY detailed asking very in depth questions about ALL of my business practices. The BBB miraculously "Accredited" my company many years ago without so much as a phone call with one question. What does that tell you about the BBB???????
STFU= Shut The **** Up
What 69a100 does NOT understand about this post is the value to others who may benefit by choosing NOT to do business with a sub par company , otherwise he wouldn't make such a ridiculous post. I see these kinds of posts as one of the very valuable reasons to participate in such a venue. Thank you Dave!

I dont use Classic or YO anymore. Just as others have said you can find much better service through others. Mega and Herbs, Dante are a few I've used with zero problems. I will admit to looking through Classic and YO catalogs, a staple in bathroom reading LOL

Oh, absolutely. Got nothing against even the biggest a$$hat suppliers from giving me a free catalog for the can.

Best thing is that it can always become dual-purpose if you run out of toilet paper.

Thx for the post - I buy stuff from them occasionally but will now be more judicious on where my money goes. I completely agree with your bitch....

Geeez, Sorry I pissed in your Wheaties, you can come out of your safe space now.
Darius- Your in CA. what more can or do you want me to say about that?

OH FOR CRYIN" OUT LOUD!!!! The OP it seems has a valid point as to customer service in this day and age. With that I agree 100% in wanting to share it with this group. That helps us all out a lot. Your STFU directed toward 69a100 was uncalled for, sophomoric, and really FOOKING RUDE!!!. He merely suggested that. Serious now Darius??? You too have a nothing to gain by slammin' him either. Facts are facts and regardless of the unfortunate circumstances experienced by the OP, this kind of retort is very childish and down right pisses me off!!! You were an acquaintance but man if I didn't know you better I'd say you got one hell of a burr up your butt also. So let's all try and be a little more kind towards one another and then we just might have some very enjoyable dialog...Rant Off!!!cr8crshr/Tuck

FWIW, I've never had a problem with any of my complaints I've filed over the years. As a matter of fact, I have come out on the better end of the deal each time, so I don't why you say what y'all say.
But just remember this Dave, you started this in a open forum, if you don't like it, well then.

I ordered a catalog on 7/17. Didn't get it yet. Oh well...

I don't why you say what you say because you forgot a word between what you wanted to say.

Oh, by the way, I disagree with you. Hope that doesn't ruffle your pretty pink feather boa.

I haven't bought from them yet,
I figured they'd be a hard sell to me anyway

don't they specialize in GM stuff ?,
didn't they just started selling {maybe IIRC 7-8 years ago},
"cheap (looking not priced) re-pop Mopar stuff

I did look at them when I was going to do a console
I was blown away how pricey the **** was, for the quality...

but I can't say, I've never purchased from them...

I have their link saved "just in case I can't find something elsewhere"
so far I haven't needed too...

Thanks for the heads up Dave,
it's always nice to know about customer service issues
or the lack of them in this case always !!

Someone mentioned MegaPartsUSA
I have had really good luck with them, especially for the little stuff...

Year One also, but the shipping costs are extortion,
customer service for me has been OK,
but their sales almost never cover what I want or
the parts I want are exempt from discount or free shipping...

here's a link page, I seem to refer back to often
{Moparts {uh, I know}, not my favorite site, but some good Mopar specific links}
http://www.moparts.com/

Jesus Christ...
Why should a customer be on the hook for the return costs when the manufacturer makes an inferior product? Why does this customer get called names when he seems to merely want to warn others of this unfair practice?
Yeah, mistakes happen and life is not fair but when you order a part that you cannot physically hold in your hand prior to purchase, you are trusting a vendor to know what is right. Back when we all used to buy from a real store , you had the chance to walk away if the part was wrong. Now with so many vendors many miles away, the best we have is pictures, a vendors word or the word of mouth of a previous customer to guide us.
