I'm done with Classic Industries...

Quit using Classic Industries myself about 3 years ago. Had at least 5 issues with them in about a 2 month period. Wayyyyy better vendors out there. And I do agree that Mega Parts is one of the best around. Jamie is the real deal.

I'm surprised to hear this. I purchased the same part from CI and had the same problem. When I contacted them, they refunded the full amount and when I asked if they wanted it shipped back, the guy said no.

Thanks for the heads up. I have only bought one item from them and didn't have to return so no issues here.

I do appreciate the input on mega parts, I will have to check them out.

Just starting to buy stuff and all I knew growing up was my dad buying from year one, so any other places that I should check out are greatly appreciate.

I do enjoy there catalogs though, like picking all the cool stuff out I wanted in the old Sears Christmas wish book back when I was a kid in the 80s.

OH FOR CRYIN" OUT LOUD!!!! The OP it seems has a valid point as to customer service in this day and age. With that I agree 100% in wanting to share it with this group. That helps us all out a lot. Your STFU directed toward 69a100 was uncalled for, sophomoric, and really FOOKING RUDE!!!. He merely suggested that. Serious now Darius??? You too have a nothing to gain by slammin' him either. Facts are facts and regardless of the unfortunate circumstances experienced by the OP, this kind of retort is very childish and down right pisses me off!!! You were an acquaintance but man if I didn't know you better I'd say you got one hell of a burr up your butt also. So let's all try and be a little more kind towards one another and then we just might have some very enjoyable dialog...Rant Off!!!cr8crshr/Tuck

I appreciate the fact that you think my point was valid in posting. Did you read YOUR BROTHER'S post? It seems like darn near every post he makes rags on those of us who are man enough to stay in the beautiful golden state. I had to go back and search hard for a few positive posts from him. He's entitled to his opinion, but it's a bit much that he needs you to stick up for him...and please, 69a100, key board tough guys are passe...

Ordered two doors for my 69 Coronet from Summit, and when they came in damaged, they sent me two more palletized and double boxed at my request within three days. Told me to keep the damaged doors... not bad at all!

A lot of times, who you get on the phone makes a difference in the service you get. If I sense a bad attitude, I hang up and call back to get someone else. If I don't get satisfaction, I ask for a supervisor.

Who doesn't love summit? I use them quite often, never had a problem with returns or anything. It's also nice to find the occasional free hat or tee-shirt in the box, too! I just wish they carried more mopar specific parts.

The BBB is a joke. They have no power to do anything. All the member has to do is say thats their policy and the case is closed.

I always thought BBB was a joke too until I had a problem with DJI (makers of Drones). I noticed that every BBB complaint against them was promptly responded to so I knew they paid attention. I posted a complaint and they contacted me the next day. I think most companies ignore the BBB, but not all.
Never hurts to try.

Seems that once a big company gets the attitude" we got lots of customers -no big deal if we lose one, if it is not profitable" However, serious competition , like Summit and Jegs.. they rely on return customers and so have good customer service. I avoid the big name Mopar sources, and prefer the smaller vendor because he WANTS your business.........................MO

There's 2 sides to every story and we haven't heard the other side yet, have we? Everybody that has a bitch about a company comes on here like you without the other side of it. You don't like what I have to say about CA., then don't read my posts. Why is it everybody slams CA.? If you only knew 1/2 of my side of that story, you might understand. BTW, I can fight my own battles, I don't need my brother to stick up for me, Thank you! And I'm not trying to be a so call key board tough guy, never have, you might want to take off your blinders and get the big picture!

Yeah,
I agree
BBB has not power at all.
But: the "pen" is mightier than the sword.
So: I will refrain from purchasing any items from Classic Industries
Word of mouth....."I heard it on the FBBO forum"

Gee,
I have a DJI Phantom III
Came with NO directions...

For those who doubt the "power of the post" I would like to conclude my experience with Classic Industries and their return policy. Yesterday afternoon I received a phone call from Tony Pummell of CI. He said that he had read my email and that the customer service rep had been misinformed. It is NOT their policy to charge shipping on a defective product and he would see to it that the shipping costs were refunded to my PayPal account. He then asked me about my post on FBBO and requested that I please update my post to indicate that CI had indeed refunded all the shipping charges. We discussed the problem with the product and I agreed to take pictures of my radiator support and my original seal so that he can deal with the vendor that supplies these to them. Done and done.
Would I have gotten the same results with the BBB? Doubt it. By having a targeted forum and audience of their customers I was able to get the solution I wanted and help them out at the same time. And that, MY FRIEND, is why I ragged about a product on this forum.
Thanks to Joey and everyone who contacted me, both in posts and in PMs. It's never about the money...It's ALWAYS about the principle.

Every time I've returned something to Jegs or Summit, both of them were willing to pay the return shipping. They even sent the FedEx guy to pick it up. From my farm so it didn't even cost me gas money driving to town. That's mighty white of them.
CI is overpriced IMO. I'm not going to say I'm done with them, but I look elsewhere first.
The fact that they wouldn't reimburse your shipping after they messed up shows their arrogance.

glad they stepped up to correct a wrong, and thanks for the update.

Had a similar issue with Dicks & a supplier of theirs. After putting up a pretty good stink over a few weeks I was finally able to get them to not charge me for a defective item. Also the supplier shipped me a new item & told me to keep it for my troubles. In this case I won't buy from Dicks online but will in their store. The item was only $30 so not a big loss to them.

While I know we have a vendor forum, another non-car forum I belong to has a sticky linking a whole set of trusted vendors. We should do something like that, would save us new guys from getting burned by unknown suppliers.

Glad to hear it's been worked out...
Sometimes the power of the pen/forum in this case helps....
I'd rather be well informed & be able to make up my own mind,
than not know & go into a bad purchase/situation,
with a company that doesn't give a **** about it's customers
or it's own customer service...
It seems they do care actually, or maybe were bullied into it :poke:
That was pretty quick results too...
Thanks for sharing the update...

Well, what can I say? I will say that what they said was nothing but Corp. crap lip service to keep the customer happy, and try to give them that warm fuzzy. If your happy with the outcome, that's what's important.
Take it as a learning experience about CS, that the training for C.S schmucks is the lowest common denominator of doing Biz. It's called "service by no service".

So what's your point?
