Hey Y'all. I'm the luckiest guy in the world. Sure all of you say that but did your wife give you a 1974 RR for your birthday. Okay maybe you, and you and a few others but I'm still pretty dam lucky. But seriously it is a solid driver in original condition. Really, really good original condition. Needs some under the hood work. But so did I at 50.
I was a bit a of a motorhead growing up. In my 20's I had a 68 RR 383/727 that after a couple years of work was... shall we say HEALTHY. But some of you know the story. Marriage, kid, house, you know all the stuff that makes America, America. Now kids are gone and have their own along with all that America stuff. So the wife and are stating to play outside again. Psst.. they ain't getten all of it. We're gonna play with some of it. They'll be fine.
Back to the car. Like I said, 1974 Road Runner base model. RM21 G4. So I'm seeing a another 383 or more in my future. Again with a 727 Torque Flight, limited slip 8 3/4" diff or better. The Body is in fantastic condition as is the interior. Something going on in front of the rear wheels and maybe at the bottom of the back glass. But other that that I can see no signs of collision repair or road rot. She did her do diligence when picking the car and got a phenomenal deal. Did I mention how lucky I am. The fender tag and car match with the exception of the KT5 color called out. It has been changed to Y5. That's right Lemon Twist, maybe. It's pretty dam close if it ain't.
Like I mentioned it got some under the hood things going on. Running richer than than the Rockefellers and they painted the engine bay black. Kinda makes me tilt my head. Ya know what I mean. The fender tag has export and international spec called out (E37### and I). Still trying to find out as much history about the car as I can. Hoping that some of the good folks here will be able to help with that. Which is why I'm here, well that and the beer. Mostly the beer.
Looking forward to the advise, connection for parts and helping me remember all the sh#t I have forgotten about HOT RODS. (I know, I know) Muscle Cars.

Welcome to FBBO from Georgia.

GREAT story pard and welcome. You will find all the advice and tips you're looking for - for your mopar. I received a lot of help when restoring my old Plymouth, wishing I would have joined sooner. And ya have one sweet wife.

Welcome! Great car to have fun with!

Welcome from Alabama, terrific wife, solid car, and great project.

welcome from north of Detroit...nice ride and yes you are lucky!!!

Welcome from PA!

My 73 was a 340 car. I stroked the engine to 416 and it runs amazing, so perhaps consider that instead of changing over to a big block. Changing over to a big block will require a different transmission, all different engine accessories, etc. Look into a stroked small block - it can run great!

Good Luck!
