In a tight spot

Thanks for the free lesson! I prefer to learn by other's mistakes, rather by my own. But, it does not always work that way.
 
Yes the wrench has been out for quite some time. Heads have since shook and lessons have been learned. Loosening all the other bolts did the trick.
I guarantee you I will be a bit more cautious the next time around which is coming up pretty soon. The exhaust is leaking on both sides now so I ordered some copper gaskets and I get to go through the whole ordeal again. Lucky me.
Pretty much a guarantee the flanges are warped, especially between the inside ports.
Best way= pull the headers and file flat.
Second best= don't pull headers, and use the Remflex gaskets.
 
I have a forty year old set of hookers, that don't leak, and I have no problems with, even tho they are in eight pieces.
I think the last person to brag like that was Ted Bundy.... :lol:
