I am going to install AMD's 3 inch wider inner wheel tubs on my 67 GTX. This is my first time doing this. In looking at the factory flange between the inner and outer it appears to be "roll welded". Any tips or tricks for removing the inner would be greatly appreciated. Also,are there any good tools/cutters that I should get?

Inners to outers are spot welded.
Since you're replacing the inner tub, you could hack it off with an axe and it wouldn't matter. However, there are a few good tools for the job.
First, an angle grinder with a 5" cut-off disk will make quick work of getting the bulk of the tub out. The closer you can cut to the seams the better.
Next you'll want a spot weld cutter. Find all the spot welds and mark the centers with a sharpie. Then drill a small pilot hole then have at it with the spot weld cutter. Try not to go through both panels with the cutter. Buy a good spot weld cutter (Blair) and use a lube on them - they'll last forever - overheat them and they won't last at all.
Next you want a set of seam splitters to break all those spot welds loose.
Done ! go have a beer.

Yes! Before doing anything there, support the dutchman panel in the middle - front and back. Now you can cut the lower portion of the hinge brackets off or cut out the spot welds. Either way you’ll be fabbing some metal there. Same applies to cutting loose the X brace!!
