Installing Classic Industries Inner Pillar Post Moldings...

Has anyone tackled this with either CI parts or the like? The lower portion that lines up with the dash does not tuck in as it should, but I do not want to force it too much because it is plastic.

I haven't used those but wonder if a heat gun could be used to help soften the plastic a little. That might help in getting it to fit better.

I've seen this comment before about the plastic pillar post covers but the only solution I read was a little bit of heat from a heat gun. Please let us know how you get it to fit. To me, heat would seem to get rid of some of the grain texture.

Do not get the heat gun too close as it will blister the plastic.

I took a few pics but the system will not allow me to post for some reason.

Just a minute of the heat gun at low and the "forks" that go against the dash molded around perfectly! Once it was laid down, I heated it up just a bit again and it flattened against the dash like butter!

I wish I had thought of the heat gun trick. I used a Dremel to fit mine...I've had them in and out a few times, and at least they fit ok.

I slid mine down rather than snap them in. Leave off the metal trim from both sides.
