Insurance for a real weekend classic driver ?

Bought a 62Plymouth wagon. I plan to drive it most weekend to our campground (70 miles round trip) from May till mid October. For those of you that drive your old car to more than just ("Hobby, car shows , club events, etc." ) How are you insuring them. I have Chubb classic insurance for other cars that( almost never leave the garage) , and I'm tired of cars that I never drive. That's why I bought the 62 Plymouth as a real weekend/ every weekend during the summer vehicle. I have Allstate for my daily everyday car.

Hagerty has no issues with you driving your cars when ever you like ( We put about 3500 miles on our '69 and '70 this Summer). Only stipulation is having "regular" drivers with their own policy.

I have Safeco, subsidiary of Liberty, for my 3 4wheel vehicles, 3 motorcycles n 2 boats. My '67 is insured along with all with full coverage. It is insured as a "stated value" policy. I'm pretty sure Allstate would do the same. Mine is a daily, well as much as it can be with 5 other vehicles to drive.

I have Hagerty on my 69 Charger.
And HAD it on my 1989 Jeep Wrangler for 2 years.
Hagerty, had no restrictions on miles or where I drove as long as we had a normal daily driver, as he said.
I know some places you can only drive to and from car shows or car events, or a 25 miles radius from your home. NOT with Hagerty.
I have also heard good things about Grundy classic car insurance, but I have only used Hagerty.

I have my insurance with American National (ANPAC Chrome) It's bundled with my home insurance and they give me a refund if there are no claims. The refund is usually bigger than the car insurance.

I used to have American Collectors until they screwed up and my change of address and it lapsed, their fault! I'm looking at Haggerty, and after reading about Grundy. I have some insurance homework to brush up on as I need to get mine insured again. Good Luck

Hagerty $220 a year, full coverage, roadside ect.

I also have Allstate for the daily drivers and homeowners and they don't have policies for classic/antique.

Thanks for all the information guys. As a side note: I do plan to take my 62 Wagon to car shows. It mostly needs body and paint work. The car will be garaged when not being driven.

You know what gets me is.....with some insurance companies, I/you can drive to Florida to a Mopar show (stay at motels for days ) drive back to Ohio. And next week drive to West VA to a show (stay a motel for days) drive home...next week drive to CALIF for Goodguys show 2 weeks of driving and motels car NOT in a garage ! But they won't insure my car if I drive 35 miles on Thursday/ back home on Sunday. Because the car won't be in a garage, and it's not a " HOBBY related event"

I have Auto Owners for all my daily stuff including my 65 Coronet, which has a declared value. Hagerty for my 66 and 65 Belvederes. I was told they won't cover my 65 after it is drivable due to horse power?

Up here in Ont I have hagerty on 5 classics you have to have reg ins on dailly drivers which we have. some ins co want antique plates which by law up here restricts the use .

The car will be garaged when not being driven.

Most old car insurance policies require this, some are even **** about weather it's a brick or wooden garage. Good Luck
