Insurance

Great thread and timing
Thinking of getting a 65 Dart so been looking into insurance

I’ve had Hagerty before and they were great.

Comparing them and American Classic now.

My IRA’s
Slow and steady wins the race. It's been a good year. The theme always goes like this, when in Rome, do like the Romans. There's been several times this year my wife says, is that even possible, for the good days and bad days. The way I see it, even with all the liabilities insurance companies face, they do a better job of matching assets and liabilities. Every dime spent is a dime made. I didn't hear anyone say they were dropping their car insurance or homeowners, which you can't if you owe on it or if you're stupid enough to cancel if you do own it. Banks are or could be a problem, but I don't do banks. I don't even like people that like banks. It's not a perfect system or always easy to watch sometimes, but we will always play and that keeps the circle moving. Just pay the premiums and keep moving. I will say, It's going to get interesting here pretty soon, we'll see coming up here, who blinks first.

My Charger hasn’t left the garage yet so it’s insured for 30K for a premium of 600 per year.
I called for a revised quote as the car is almost completed.
Hagerty rep asked if my paint is over 10K, yes.
Has the car been modified, I said no just rebuilt.
Quote for 70K was 2200 per year. Crazy !
I have no tickets or accidents. Great credit..

i have hagerty for my 70gtx, insured for the $75k i paid for $750/yr with 100/300 uninsured motorist. good thing the motor is just a rebuild, not souped up and more HP as that would add to the premium. i'm about 40 min north of Tampa, FL. Just spent another $25k on suspension, distributor, few trans seals and valley pan gasket, carb tune, new tires.. keeping the insured value just under $100k made a diff and i think i'll pay a bit over $800/yr vs $1000, and this includes "salvage value" provision where I keep the car and part out what i can, if i want..
