I'm sure some office dillrod who got tasked to place the craigslist ad screwed up and typed 72 instead of 73 or 74. I just thought it was interesting that someone put the older strobe set on a 73/74 car. I had never seen that before. And I'm thinking of pulling the armrests off my doors and reshooting them in Steelers gold to add some contrast to the interior because I like that look on this car and I can always reshoot them black if I don't.
I figured they painted the bumpers because the chrome was shot, but they also did the bezels, used black wheels, etc., so it looks like they were trying to do that no-chrome look that some kids like today. Sure would be a shame if they painted over some decent bumpers.
BTW, a while back, someone suggested I paint the headlight bezels on my car black, and I was looking for a cheap set of bezels to try that with, but looking at the black bezels and dark purple on this car, I'm thinking black bezels would be just too much black up front.

the stripe is the only cool thing about it. i think its hideous with the wheels, painted bumpers and purple dashpad . i dont see anything 72 about it, wait , maybe the marker lights. its even got a flat hood
sorry Bruzilla lol
No problem, and I agree with you. I just posted this because I've retired my restore-to-original mindset and now get my joy out of making my car appeal to me vice the collector world, so I'm looking for cars where guys were thinking outside the Year One catalog and customizing things vice making their car look like everyone else's. Problem is not everyone has great ideas, as evidenced by this car. But at least they were trying something new, so I gotta give them props for that.
The next time I go to J and J's I have got to snap some pictures of a 71/72 road runner he's got sitting in his parts car area. I would swear someone fitted the rear end from a mid-80s corvette to the back of that car. It sure looks odd, but it is different.

Don't you LOVE the RR emblems stuck over top of the "Sebring" emblems on the door panels?
I'm kinda liking that. Not the sticking them over the Sebring badges, but putting those on the door panel like that. My panels don't have anything on them but some chrome trim and those badges might look good there.
Okay... just checked the price of those badges. They're north of $90 for a pair! Looks like I'll need to find something else.
