Samaritans Purse. Donate. Do SOMETHING. Those poor Bastards. You can use PayPal. Simple.
I just made my largest donation to charity ever to Samaritan's Purse. I couldn't find a more efficient and accountable charity than SP. I wish I could help more.

Thank you, Dennis, for recommending them.

The stories are coming out more and more about just how grave the circumstances are for the folks in that neck of the woods. So, please help any way that you can.

Been reading and watching , pretty much at a loss for words.
All of you guys having to deal with this storm and aftermath have my prayers and support.
1993 much of the midwest was hit by a horrible flood that seemed to go on for a year. It took a long time for things to get somewhat back to normal.
Many thoughts and prayers for those lost and their families.

I was a kid when I experienced a flood like this. I got safely to home before the wall of debris came through town. 8 inches of rain in four hours in hilly country leaving 238 people dead. There were many heroes that night and some who perished in their efforts to save family and neighbors. Since I was young, I don't have much in the way of advice. There will be a lot of work, the shots we lined up for made me sore, and that mud really stinks. I don't know much about non-profits, but the Salvation Army was there the next day with food, water, clothes, and bedding. Helene is such a large area, the relief logistics must be astounding. One thing: Don't let anyone bulldoze your house unless you think it best.
