Hello everyone happy Sunday, so I was messing around with my 70 GTX and noticed the floor gap by the gas pedal and up the trans tunnel was pretty good size, with the sealer gone I can poke through that area with a small screwdriver. There doesn't seem to be anything more than surface rust. Is this typical on these cars? Thanks for the help.

That's a pretty tight gap ....just add silicon. :D

Are they sometimes bigger than that from the factory? I just thought they would have all been welded shut. Haha

They can be quite big...depends how the guys assembling were feeling that day. I just last week threw away some seam sealer I pulled from my '70 GTX...and it was the same as what you have - gap size I mean. It was horrendous to see the gaps, but that's just how the cars were.

That's good to know, it scared me at first. Glad to see it was just factory variations. Speaking of seam sealer, do you guys have a recommendation of brand/type? Thanks once again for the help, I really appreciate it.
