Is a valley pan just a valley pan?

$15 seems like a good price, i used to buy two at a time so i always had a new one on the shelf (hate being held up by not having simple gaskets or having to buy them at high prices in a hurry at the parts store) but will try reusing them from now on and see how it works out.
i have re-used them from time to time. but i figured at 15 bucks , i might as well get a new one this time. i just use plenty of goop on them.

why not use a nice indy valley cover

$100. shipped. Not working so how about around 75 reasons :( .... They do look nice though. Heck by painting and using the old one i have 55 miles of gas :) P1191658.jpg

yea the indy valley pan is sweet too ,but may have probs if your running a dual plane intake, gunna get clearance issues

yeah, i'm glad to see they are still cheap, i used to buy them for $12 from mancini and other mopar dealers so price is still reasonable or more so with inflation. thing was i always felt like it was a waste of something that looked usable to just throw it away and replace. another point to make on bb mopar intake / gasket set-up...i think the design and look is brilliant keeps hot oil off bottom of intake and looks great while doing it! thanks mopar engineers!

ive reused them also. i made my own for my indy heads to work with the six pack. of course if you ever do a cam swap like i am now it becomes more of a job when you have to pull a head off...

That's why I mod the tin as seen in my pic. I run a low deck and Street Dominator. The heat plenum high-centered the intake with a flat valley cover. Sure, a guy can cut the heat plenum off but why f u an intake?

All you guys--reading this and reminiscing---I can remember old 440's( & 383's) in the big cars(Imperials,Newports, etc.)had an insulating pad laying between valley cover & bottom of intake. Tore one apart and it was a fiberglass insulation pad covered with aluminum foil. Just trying to bring back old memories!!
