is america really that great?

we are pretty good ....BUT .. our government uses people then throws them away ... the politicians admit it every time they say "in America's best interest" which translated means we will take what we can from you then move on ..we have done that for a long time and some of that is coming home to roost ...sorry ... and the "love it or leave it thing" come on

It’s easy to criticize the U.S as a country in decline & especially in the past few years & even weeks... It’s times like these that brings out the greatest in our country... I am passionate that We are fighters can bring back the nation...despite the many downfalls & problems, there is still no better place to live....

Where is this Country that this Generation knew? We need this back in the worst way. I begin to think people are craving this everywhere!

May be off topic, but I had a boss one time who was great to work for. Very Liberal she was. We were talking about vacations. Outside the 48, I have only been to Canada and Mexico. She described her 4th trip to Italian wine country and several other trips around the globe and the beauty of it. Got around to domestic travel and she said that she had never been to Grand Canyon! All I can say is shame on you globe trotter who has not taken the time to see the Grandeur of our beloved USA.

I tell my grown sons and grandsons to be a good citizen and always go the extra mile to be a patriot EVERYDAY and think of the shoulders we all stand on.

I am familiar and know my ancestors, and can only hope I can perform to their level. They came to America by boat. They as Good German stock created large ranches and Farms, consorted with Indians, and developed America.(1848-1940) My Grandmother's Uncle's were at little Big Horn, on the other side. My Grandfather's grand Parents didn't speak English in the beginning, and they didn't expect Welfare, Social security, or unemployment benefits. They were grateful to be in America. And Immigrants Today?

old video, old show, but thought provoking indeed.

the most honest 3 minutes on tv,maybe ever.

I agree, this is a great clip, though it was completely scripted. Just watching it gives me chills.

I agree, I love my country but we could be better. We spent the past 20 years sending our boys to fighting wars in the Middle East that we planted the seed for 30 years before that. We then reward our solders with healthcare that North Korea would be ashamed of.

We have millions of citizens without health insurance, so we make it more expensive and punish them for not buying it.

We tax our businesses at the highest rates on Earth, all the while our worthless politicians continue to give lip service to the issue but never even attempt to address the underlying issues.

Sure it's a great country, but it could be better.

For those that think America is not the Greatest country in the world, I say to them......GET THE F-CK OUT!

Even with all our faults, we are the best, just ask anyone trying to get in to make a better life for them and their family.

Lol. No, the correct answer is, " love it or vote the right people into office so we can improve it". This has always been the correct answer.

True, but in the grand scheme of things, that's nothing.

I think Vince Lombardi said it best when he said, "Gentlemen, we are going to relentlessly chase perfection, knowing full well we will not catch it, because nothing is perfect. But we are going to relentlessly chase it, because in the process we will catch excellence."

That was a good sound bite, the 1st part & last part especially...

I think we are still the greatest country in the world, but I'm a little biased too,
in-spite of or even our current govt. {lack of real leadership} & WH weak & feckless leadership &
all our liberal media down fallings...

We're still pretty freaken' awesome...
I love my country, I love my home state, even if it's being turned into a Liberal **** hole,
about every election cycle, by the conned/duped inner-city masses...

BUT;
IMO under our current leadership {or lack of any} we're going in the wrong direction for damn sure...

I would hope all Americans, would love this country, love our constitution,
bill of rights & the amendments, because they are what makes US so damn great,
they are what makes so many people from other countries, all want to come here,
be able to live the American dream...
Even under the lousy, unconstitutional & utterly weak progressive liberal democrats leadership,
we currently have @ 1600 Pennsylvania Ave...

I hope the American voters "wake up or we won't be able to maintain our greatness"...
