Is there a better cam for me?

You may want to check with a few cam grinders to see if they have a blank that will actually facilitate the lift and lsa you’re proposing.

Roller cores have a fairly small lift/lsa window that they can be used for.
A Low-ish lift and tight lsa roller core for a BBM might be tough to come by.
You were spot on the cam grinders I spoke to said that the cores are not able to be ground that tight .
Best the could do was a 108 with a deg advance at Howard's .
Comp said 108 with a 2 degree advance .
No way getting 104 straight up.
So I decided to go with the Howard's
108 LSA and 4 deg advance ground in.

Having the advance ground into it is a non-issue.
You can always just move the cam with an adjustable timing set and put it where ever you want it.

This is what I have ordered .
235/241 at .050 on a 108 LSA +4
.600 lift in and ex
The tech said comp cams 26120 springs I have will be fine for that cam .
Should be pretty good sounding and have a good mid range tourqe.
Just gota wait 6 to 8 weeks Howard's camshaft is behind on cams right now .
But it's winter so not really a problem giving me time to install new sub frame connectors. LoL.

Sounds good, you're going to set the installed heights I assume

I’m enjoying this thread. I’ve used a lot of 105lsa flat tapped cams in 383/400 small block chevies. 11 to 1 287/295 adv 256/264 @050 .537/.557. 105lsa 99icl. I used aftermarket heads and 1.6 rockers. Made great torque and hp. Sounded wicked. My 440 has 10.5 to 1, CNC stealths, Isky 292 mega cam. [email protected], .500 lift, 108lsa, 104icl. It’s tame. Idle sounds like a 6pack motor. Rumbles with a bit of chop. 2 inch headers and a rpm intake with a 750. If it comes apart next year I’m going bigger on the cam and heads.

I honestly would like to get a roller cam on a 104 LSA but both cam companies I trust said they can't grind them that.way it would damage the heat treatment on the core blank.
So I am settling.with now a custom.235/241 .050 with .600 lift in .560ex on a 108+4 .
I am planing on dyno testing the car.with the current cam and then swapping the cams and taking back to the dyno to see what the difference is .
We believe it will pick up everywhere.
But we need to see the proof.
That's the plan I will repost when I get this all together.
