Is there a common cause for no rear brakes and brake light on?

Not necessarily. You'd be surprised how that can be cleaned up. The most difficult part of that job is unloosening the brake lines.

Since we are on the Brake subject... Anyplace good to get Rotors? Might as well knock it all out at once. I went to Rock Auto and they seem to be sold out. Fairly expensive too for a stock type rotor.

Geez, just browsing around it looks like in 72 you need a bearing kit too?? oh boy?!

Sometimes you can reset them by pressing on the brake pedal really, really hard with both feet. Give it a try - you'll here a "pop" noise when it resets.

I had an issue with a distribution block where I was bleeding the brakes with a vacuum pump. The vacuum pulled the shuttle towards the rear, blocking fuid flow to the rear brakes. I removed the brake warning switch and was able to push the shuttle back to center with a small 90 degree prick. Not sure it would work with a Proportioning valve since the shuttle is longer. May be worth a try though.

So I did bought a new master cylinder as well, and the brake pedal is firm after bleeding but it seems I no longer have power brakes?! Any ideas? Vacuum hose is still connected.
