The urethane ring keeps pressure on the lower cup and ball. Ball joint itself is metal on metal. Looks like a sturdy design.
Is this insanely cheap or a scam for upper ball joint?

I got my six today. Pulled one out, boxes arrived in ec, it was very greasy. Looked good tho. May just make me start on restoring the front suspension in the coronet now.
