It's a long way from the front bumper to carburetor pad!

I never thought about coming from the side also

As I ripped the whole front hideaway bumper assembly and front valance off my 71 Bee when I pulled the motor out months ago

However gave me a chance to detail and paint etc so not all lost , but never had any intentions of yanking the front of my car off when I borrowed this harbor freight puller from the neighbor

Never even crossed my mind at the time

Maybe come from the side when re installing
 
Apparently leak is repaired, when the tip/tit broke off from the rubber end oil pan gasket, the gasket slipped out of place. Foto shows how the cherry picker was fully extended and up against the front bumper to facilitate the extraction/replacement of the 318 from/into the '72 SSP using the newly purchased Autozone cherry picker:
