Personally I think oxyacetylene is better, way quicker heat than a propane torch; but, there's always the possibility of the rubber in whl cup getting too hot. Gotta work quick, maybe stuff a wet rag on cylinder to soak off the heat.

of course there's always a tubing cutter or hack saw.

...or vice-grips.
