I've got that "Old Car Smell."

I think I will yank the carpet at the end of this season. It's original so I don't want to replace it if I don't have to. The guy before me painted the arm rests. The paint is off by about 4 shades of blue. Now in the sun they get sticky. Gross. I going to keep conditioning the leather seats all summer. They have cracks and creases but not too bad for original. They are hard as a rock though.

SteveSS what kind of conditioner r u using?

I vote for the ionizer treatment. I had a car stolen and short story is they tried to start the inside of the car on fire - it really smelled of smoke and told the insurance company I wouldn't take it back. They convinced me to let this body shop handle the issue. Granted they replaced the carpet because of the damage to it. The ionizer was used on the inside for days. I got the car back and it had no smell what so ever. I was stunned and happily accepted the car back.

I had my '86 Country Squire detailed two weeks ago, and they used a de-ionizer on the interior after they cleaned it. The car smells better than a new car! Outstanding work!

Just some conditioner from the auto parts store. I'm going to put on as much as it will take this summer. Definitely leather. Front seat seating surfaces. Sides and back seat are vinyl.

Those models with the Special Edition package (code A47) used the same design but used leather-grained inserts with the Coachman grain skirts. Only four colors were available: blue, red, tan and black. Leather trim wasn't available in Chargers without the A47 option, nor were there any other leather trim colors available.
