Many were true patriots,
it was FDRs decision to put the Japenese in encampments
he didn't have really good advice, he let Pearl Harbor get attacked
the way he (his military leaders) had the military stage the planes & ships etc.
(he is the Commander in Chief, buck stops there)
he wanted in the War (like our current Pres. is doing, in Ukraine)
it was a different world/time
freaken' warmongers
don't get me wrong;
I think that was the greatest generation
but some horrific decisions were made, some very hastily
& unconstitutionally too, because of war or a certain party & their ambitions
or outright racism in many cases, hatred for the enemy/races
If we were at war with China, or any other country
we 'should' round up any & all the nefarious types, we know of
(non-US Citizens, question them at a min., it's the FBI's real job)
Chinese sympathizers/CCP, Chinese citizens & either put them in Guantanamo Bay
like war combatants should all be, domestic or foriegn
or deport their asses immediately, not let them back in
if we had any proof of them being spies/combatants or working for the CCP
If they are US citizens it's a completely different story
they need their due process not just a brown shirt style socialist govt. rounding them up
& putting them in camps
they did the same to Germans too
I know a couple of families of both German & Japanese descent
that were treated horribly, both fathers (great grandfathers now)
served in WWII for the USA Military, before their families were imprisoned
one was a Navy pilot, one was on a sub, a Cheif officer
at the time too
to the OP, this thread & subject
really doesn't belong in the GD forum either
no way it can't be political, wars or any discussion of them, are politics
the truth hurts sometimes too
