A truly amazing man and life. He passed at 100 years old. His work with Habitat for Humanity is legendary. RIP President Carter.

He did do his part with Habitat for Humanity, sadly, most of those homes are destroyed because they weren’t taken care of.

It seems that the only good thing to come out of the Carter era was high CD rates. Unfortunately I was too young to partake.
My mother had 2 cd's one 13% and one 15% but only 20 k split between the two. Different deposit dates. It barely kept up with inflation.

His humanitarian efforts far outweighed his presidential achievements. I remember our school had an election early that fall, ford won in our school, I was 9. R.I.P Jimmy.

Jimmy did manage to get some sort of peace negotiation done in the Middle East....didn't last that long, but he tried.

You do have to give him & his wife credit for being married for 77 years. That's all the accolades I've got for him.

Billy died in 1988 at 51 and the sister Ruth at 54, Both from pancreatic cancer. Crazy how things work out

He was a genuinely good man. Horrible president. R.I.P. James Earl Carter

Gave away the Panama Canal.
Created the Dept. of Education to funnel billions to teachers unions.
Stagflation.
Gas rationing.
Cancelled the B1 Bomber.
Revealed to the world that we had stealth technology.
Iran hostage crisis.

Carter had an annoying habit of giving a smile when he was speaking, especially when giving bad news. He was also lambasted for his daughter giving him advice.
