Here are a couple of pictures of Mark's past project getting parts slowly added. The vinyl top is now on.

The backup light looks like it's giving me the finger.

it is :icon_fU:

Hawk, post those pics here any time.....the more, the merrier
Actually, it is giving Barry the finger, saying "You need to put this panel on"!

Speaking of putting parts on: The GTX, unlike the Road Runner, has lots of chrome trim pieces inside. For example, around the windows. This isn't chromed pot metal, but regular steel that is chromed. Just re-chroming those few pieces will cost about $1500. Yikes! But this car will hopefully be stunning when it is done.

Next on the agenda is to do the headliner, firewall stuff and dash. That will allow the front and back windows to get installed. Separately, the final porting of the heads are being done. Then the engine can be finished and run on the test stand. Once that it done, it will come back and get painted and we will build up the K member.

Lots to do but progress is being made!

Is Carlisle still the goal Hawk?
I think that's possible. The big question is parts availability. There is a long wait for Legendary interior pieces (ordered, but w a i t i n g). The other reason it might not is cost. As I stated above, just re-chroming of a few interior parts is $1500. Instrument cluster will be $2K. Plus fuel injection, A/C, and other small parts with big costs, etc. You get the idea. (Plus, wait until he gets the engine bill!!! :bananaweed: ) Barry is not compromising on quality, so hopefully his wallet can keep up with the costs.

Thanks, Mark! Where do you buy your paint (specifically, this paint)?

I have an akzo nobel distributor nearby......... (sikkens, lesonal, wanda, utech)

I use the wanda basecoat....... it's reasonably priced, and I don't see any real difference from the more expensive line

"...wallet can keep up with the costs" THAT statement is the TRUE REALITY!!!!

lots of distractions this week...... I cleaned up a bunch of hardware and cut/buffed the blue band. Faked a few spot welds where they needed to be after some lower patch work. I wanted to be painting some more white by today, but just didn't get there. It's never a sprint and always a marathon.

Nice work as always!

I'm hoping it's still here when you come up. I have to finish up the paint and install the suspension and drive train. Everything is painted up and ready to go. I'm so digging it.

I think there is better than a 50/50 shot I bring this thing to Carlisle...... it's not mine any more, but I do have privileges

The race is on Hawk. We'd like to see both Barry's GTX and Mark's Rebel Machine this year. Yeah, I know, and my new engine installed
