Just bought an original system. Complete?

My '68 Charger is an original a/c car but I am missing everything. I just picked up this setup from a '68 Coronet 318 car. The fan and compressor both turn by hand. That's the extent of my diagnostics. I'm hoping to rebuild the box and transfer everything to the Charger.

A few questions.
Other than missing some hardware, does everything look complete?
On the control panel, the sliders that are hooked up to the vacuum ports, are they supposed to have a very short travel or should they move similarly to the ones that are on cables?
It's going on a 440. Do I need different brackets?

Different compressor brackets for sure for big block. Also, 383 one is different than 440 because of difference of width between heads.
 
This is a very difficult situation to determine what’s best for you as I’m sure you want the best in your car , guess it depends on to what extent you want your car original! At least that would be a question I would ask myself! In reality, this would be the driving force as to whether I would spend much time and money on this oem unit or purchase a aftermarket one that will function properly after installation and look really nice as well! Hope this is helpful in your decision making for this is how I view these things in building my vehicles! ( Mopar keepers)
 
Vintage Air and Classic Auto Air have kits tailored specifically for your car. They are designed to run with A134 and would be more efficient than 50 year old system. The kits run about $1500.00. I have removed a non-working factory system from my 1964 Polara, and am replacing it with Vinage Air stuff. Since this company does not make a kit for my particular car, I have been piecing it together myself. It is quite a jigsaw puzzle. My biggest complaint with the kits, is that they run all the lines out through the inner fender to route through the cowl under the front fender. They supply a plate to cover all the factory holes in the firewall. One version of their kits reuses factory air controls and vents.
 
Yes that’s the very reason I choose chassic air , don’t like the idea of their line routes (vintage age) classic routing more like original!
 
You can get kits specifically for factory air cars, keep your interior components, upgraded compressor, condenser, evap. About same price as total conversions. Keep the factory air setup, they work fine..
