That must've been a blast, Hope you had a great time. I saw a couple of those cars roll across, I'm waiting to see what that hemi cuda convert will bring

I was supposed to go out there and spend Tuesday through Thursday scoping it out. My best friend lives in Peoria, and we were planning on taking his new Vette for a "spin" to the auction. Some personal crap came up and that plan got squashed. Hopefully, next year...Thanks for the pics!

I'd love to go. Maybe volunteer to be a handler. I still say if I needed a car, I would shop there for a finished car at 1/3 the cost of doing it myself. I'm watching on Speed Channel. Those guys are all Chevy though.

If you are going back this week ask them to turn up the volume on the commentators mikes and turn down the auctioneers. We can barely make out what is being said by them, because the auctioneers are too loud and they are saying the same thing all we need to know is the hammer price. I finally gave up on them last nite tooooooo many chevys and tooooooo many commercials.

I bet it is a neat event in person, but with all the begging for money and commercials I have had a hard time watching the auction on TV this week. Regardless, it is guys night at my place on Saturday and we will be watching. Hopefully they don't go to commercial when the 71 Cuda rag goes across the block.

Hate to say it, but it's looking like Amy Lassiter is about ready for a restoration. :)

Thats some nice looking cars in there, Looks like a lot of fun..

and money! :)

Yup, the auctioneer's volume needs to be turned way down! After about 5 minutes of that jabber, I mute it.

She's worn out from getting spanked by Spanky...........

anmracing, thanks for the eye candy. Next time spare us the Fiat tho. I'm planning on going one year, just to see the cars.

We had a great time. These auction always run up the prices of the classics. Especially around here in the Phoenix area. Us regular Joe's can't afford a decent classic because of this. It's still fun to see what's out there.

Alot to take in a day isn't it?

Yeah, It's not a one day thing. All the walking takes it out of a person. We try to go two time in a week but this year is a little busy for us. Saturday it the really fun day.

Lots and lots of Chevy stiff. The Vettes are amazing! That is the main reason we go.... Yes for the Vettes, we have one and we love to see them. There were a lot of trucks thie year too.

The volume is not any lower on the grounds... LOL!!! That's the only downfall of actually being there, having to listen to the guy yelling really fast...

I was was wondering who would say something about that... LOL!!! That was for the benifit of a friend of mine that works for MOPAR and was dealing with some Fiat dealer in the area.

I'm seeing a couple of trends at both BJ and Mecum lately. It used to be most of the cars were newly restored, just out of the paint booth, cars that were restored for the purposes of entering them into the market. Now I'm seeing more cars that have been on the market and are being resold than new ones. Also, there's a big increase in collection sales. It used to be a collection sale, or even the sale of a partial collection, was a rare thing. Now both auctions are selling several collections and BJ is even going out and interviewing the owners to get more info about the cars.

It's looking to me like there's a run on getting out of the collector car market starting up. The sellers I've seen interviewed are all telling the same story... "I have too many cars and need to sell a bunch to make room for more", but that's what they better say unless they want the prices to start free falling. It'll be interesting to see if these trends grow.

great observation

Allot of walking, you can't really take it all in, in just one day usually... it's fun to go thou, if your a car guy/gal, it's should be a "must do, on the bucket list"... thanks for the photos too, we do love or car **** here...LOL....

:iamwithstupid: yep It seems like, there are more serious collectors, selling collection lately, but buying others still, they are mostly all multi-million dollar collections too, what these millionaires do isn't what the general buying public, usually could or would ever do, they also have said they want to change their "themes" of the collections also, I wonder what is the next "theme", or new "era" or new "hot buys" ??, for these multi-millionaires, driving the high end market, buying all these high dollar restorations or customs... Collectors/Buyers/Consigners like Rick Hendricks & Ron Pratt or any other high end collectors/regulars, haven't lost a beat, they're still selling & buying "both", it's like revolving multi-million dollar inventories, just going from one guys collection to anothers...

We try to go every year and you would be surprised how many cars you see there that were there the year before. Someone buys the car, maybe does a little to it and resells it. Kinda odd really.

Thanks for sharing, would love to see that and sema in person someday!

Talk about a LOT of walking..... SEMA is amazing!!! It's been a couple of years for me but that is definatly a lot to see and anyone into cars has got to go see it.

I've been watching these auctions for years, and lately, mabe it's my imagination, but it seems like whenever there's something other than a chevy on the block, they cut to a commercial or go into one of their blab fests, then cut back just as the car is leaving the block.
