I have been looking for a replacement gauge cluster for my '62 Polara. Wanted to find one in better shape than mine to send out and have rechromed.

Found one on eBay, nice shape, reasonable price too. Three days later I received it. The box looks a little beat up and I'm thinking the worst. Open the box and low and behold its busted! MFn UPS Driver's! The box had a hole in the side of it and the bottom was distorted as if the truck had ran over it. The seller had done a great job in packing it up and it should of held up to the normal abuse that it might have endured. This was just plain incompetence! For what you pay for shipping nowadays you should be able to ship it in a wooden crate! Looks like that is what its gonna take.

I notified the seller including pics and he's filing a claim with UPS. (OOPs) What a shame. Was a real nice piece too. So I'm back too looking again. Bastards!

Pics to follow :

Back when I was into the gas/oil stuff,I found out that you DO NOT ship glass gas pump globes via OOPS. Myself and numerous other collectors have lost rare pieces to their mis-handling. I always went via the postal service, and never had a broken globe issue. Can't say that about UPS of Fed-Ex.

Sorry to hear of that problem;I'm with Matt. That sucks. Hope you find another one. I'll keep my eyes open around here.
