Just got this cheep cd receiver from canadian tire.my question is just 1 wire,i know the yellow is battery,red ignition,for the first time ever never had a orange/white lllumination me thinks its so it has light,in the past all radios all lit up when it was turned on.so am i right i could just hook it up with the red ignition wire so the light is on when this unit is on.thoughts.thanks.ps wear the hell is spring.

If you wired it to your dash lights, wouldnt it only illuminate with the lights on?
I think you should find a power source from the key in "run" position, but according to page 24 of the manual the orange also illuminates an optional XM reciever...

You really don't need that wire. The lights on the radio will still light up. The illumination wire is for connecting to the dimmer. It should dim the radio with the dash.
I'd just let it be and not hook it up. I've rarely ever used the illumination wire with my installs.
