LA VS RB Distributor (Can someone educate me please?)

Hello,
Is there anyone of you experts that can tell me what the differences are between a stock small block LA distributor and a stock Big Block RB distributor...and while your at it if you can throw in the B distributor explanation as well I'd appreciate it.

mechanical advance weights are designed backwards LA vs BB, (since sb rotates clockwise, and bb counterclockwise) and the difference between a b and r/b distributor is the length of the shaft, RB is longer by somewhere around 3/4"


I might have been wrong about sb vs bb k frames for 73+, but mechanical parts I know :icon_thumright:

vac advance pot is on wrong side also.....the only thing that is the same between the 2 is the main aluminum body of the dist, everything else is different and will not work

Thank you very much for your replies. I grabbed a group of distributors that I've collected over the years and found the Big Block one I was looking for. Great information!!!
