Guys I have to get some body work done to my GTX I was wondering what you guys thought about this. Can this be patched and painted or will I have to replace the 1/4 panel. As for lacquer paint is it hard to match? image.jpgimage.jpg

Matching older paint is a crap shoot at best...........really depends on how old the paint is and how much it has faded......if it is a stock color you can get the correct paint code for it but to match it depends on the painter and/or the paint supplier. A lot of auto paint supplier's have digital paint color readers that can match the paint by doing a scan of the paint that is on the car. Hope this helps

If that top corner hole is all that's wrong, it can be patched. If the bottom is rusted out as well, may as well just do the whole quarter. Looking at the corrosion, what's the rest of the car look like?

If that's original paint, it's enamel, not lacquer.

Thanks Photon rest of the car looks great

Such a small hole i would patch repair it since its only one little corner, wouldnt be hard to do by someone who is competent with metal work, i have spent nine months doing rust repair and patching on my charger and it had acres of holes!
