Ouch.Got back out there today.
1. New adjustable front shocks.
2. Back shocks tightened up.
3. 29 inch slicks replaced thw worn out 28’s
I know you are supposed to change 1 thing at a time, but there’s only so much time.
So it worked out pretty good. Car hooked well and handled well.
Consistency came back and I made a couple passes close to my best.
Cutting a light was a challenge and I had a couple ref lights in test and tune, so I cut down my launch rpm a little .
Cut 1 .500 light. I knew that was too close.
Round 2 eliminator I went out .499 red.
Making progress
That's been my problemI had nobody to take video though
I had very similar rear body lift with my stock 62 springs (727 tho). When I went to 456/457 ss springs, that lift was cut down a bunch. I'm pretty sure my shocks were topping out with the stock springs, but my shocks were garbage anyway.I’m thinking it’s because the super stock springs are so short in the front.
Back when I got them you had to install a longer front hanger, 2” I think.
I have to decide what to do with it this winter.
One route is to get longer Caltrac split monos, and move them in, which I need to do anyway.
Otherwise I’m thinking ladder bars.
Thanks Gus,Nice job!
There were some Calvert B body mono leafs at Summit in the return/sale section a while back they might still be there.
So how do you like the clutch tamer ? I have a street clutch in my car now and it bites hard and I was wondering how well they worked.

Call or contact Grant, the owner inventor. I'm sure he would offer advice. He's also @weedburner on this forum. Thanks Gus,
The clutch tamer works well. Adjustment is still pretty mysterious to me. The instructions don’t help a lot, but I’m not the brightest bulb on the tree.
I think a lot of it has to do with the geometry of how it’s mounted to your pedal. On mine the outer dial is almost completely out of adjustment, so I think l should reposition the whole thing. But I have a homemade z-bar, and I don’t think the geometry is ideal.
I think the longer I use it the more I like it. I wouldn’t go back to racing this car without it or something similar.
That would drive me nuts, get out there guy!Call or contact Grant, the owner inventor. I'm sure he would offer advice. He's also @weedburner on this forum.
I'll be happy when I can make the time for a track day. I've had the hydraulic based HitMaster in my car at least 2 years and have yet to try it.
It has, it is, I am and not happy, but I am adjusting my thinking to do more for myself, because what I've been doing for years is very unfulfilling and too often unappreciated. Oh, and I generally like my work and my customers appreciate me, so conclusions can be easily drawn. That would drive me nuts, get out there guy!
Yeah, but that picture still looks AWESOME!Pic for dreadfull memory of never knowing what’s gonna happen on launch. Rear leafs stretched right out. Yanking rear tires off the track as the front drops.
