Thanks! I started being semi-retired in 2012 and I really love working on my long set aside project ideas. I definitely sleep better when doing these projects as opposed to waking up with thoughts on cases when I'm in the middle of a forensic engineering case. I guess I am getting the best of both worlds (working and retired). Thanks to the Almighty!!! I wish you get to this point too and soon 747!
I really hope I can, 4:15 AM just isn't for me and 50+ hrs a week has me away from my kids to much. Lifes short and the time you have with your kids is shorter.
This is what happens when you steal the wife's dining room table for camp.....
Pic is a little dark but I had to build her a farmhouse type table! All I have to do now is stain the crap out of it!

Did this last year for the wife...the old fire place was painted brick..went with ledgestone and travertine...came out ok, but now I see I have some mortor I really should clean up...

Well we got the Nova back Weds.., had all the glass put in to save the aggravation.... next up wiring, interior, exhaust...hope to have done by Nov...

from this, with the help of the kubota. to a little bit cleaner, damn near killed me
Still plugging away at these built into the wall shelves at my front door . . .
The initial cut outs to get the design in place . . .
Building of the boxes that get installed into the walls, and getting them installed . . .
I was suppose to head up to 747's house and attend the Mopar Nats this weekend, but the weather report looked SO BAD that we thought it might not be worth the trip . . . so . . . I worked on this yesterday and made some serious progress . . . Building on the shelves . . .
And the current state of the project - the flat surfaces are all textured mud, and should stand out more when I get them into pain - but the overall design is just about wrapped up - got a little bit of tidying up to get it completed . . .
And get it into paint so I can call it DONE.

My 24x26 woodshop with Corten steel siding and wainscoting, cedar horizontal siding to follow.
And the reason the shop is not finished:
I have been retired for a few years now and have started fishing again, this a Chinook salmon taken just 40 minutes from my house on the South Fork of the Salmon River. I have been cutting firewood up there for the last six years and a friend suggested I try the salmon fishing. I'll be there every year from now on!

I'm collecting "cheap but still decent quality" music gear to leave at my friend's repair shop/home.
There a few other "musicians" that occasionally show up after hours, and it would be nice to save myself and them from driving back and forth with gear, plus it's cool for the decor of the customer waiting area (along with the pool table dart board, sound system, etc).
I picked up a Simmons electric drum set for $50 a few weeks ago, and I just scored a double pedal assembly for $20 last weekend.
This weekend I scored these Epiphone guitars-
A Special II LE Les Paul, which is almost too good to leave in an un-air conditioned garage, and the next best under $100 guitar in the store, a 310 series SG. Plays good but is a bitch to get the G string tuned right. Might be able to fix that.
I originally selected a Squier affinity strat as #2, in order to have "one of each", but took it back after I couldn't get a decent tone out of it and finding that it felt way more cheap than the entry level Gibsons of the same era.
It's cool to have these iconic guitars in my collection, no matter how things work out with jam sessions at "the shop".

Great news on my SG-
I loosened the g string and rubbed some graphite from a mechanical pencil in the grove where the string goes across the nut.
Wa-bam! No more hard to tune issue.
That simple trick turned a C- guitar into a solid B+
STOKED. Played for about an hour last nigh along with the radio.
Learned Dammit by Blink 182 and Brain Stew with it's outro from Green day.
This morning about another hour playing some AC-DC and Sabbath (what the SG is now meant to do).
