Here's a shot of the 65 Belvedere II that I have been driving since I used it to get my learner's permit back in February 1965. It was treated to a refreshening early in 2010 so it technically looks better now than when it was new. I always wondered how it would run with a big block and now I know:toothy9:
Here's a a pic of my labor of love. Just starting to make a hot rod out of this 65 satellite convertible. I am going to bore out a 400 and put into the car. I'm planning on putting a 727 tranny in her. It has a 8-3/4 rear end. I'm thinking i'll have to replace it with a posi traction. Target hp will be in the 450-500hp range. Can anyone offer any advice on what rear end would be preferred for a street car with this hp range?
Just finished putting on the front clip, putting in the grille and headlights, and wiring everything up a month or so ago. Still need to install the lower valance and marker lights.
I have always loved the early MoPars and I can remember watching them when they drove up my street.....now I have my own! Just a 383 car with a long way to go yet but getting one is half the battle.
Here is a before and after pic from the day I brought my 64 home. Some may recognize it from Carsonline. Apparently it was on for while before I spotted it. The car needs a lot of work but I'm hoping to drive it this year. New front floors are in 400 and Trans gone through, Converter in, This year new springs, TTI exhaust with Thrush Muffs and hopefully drive it lots.
