I looked that one over for about 30 minutes. Congrats on your purchase! You got a nice one.

Finally received my corner scales from Speedway

63' 330
440 w/iron heads
T10 4-speed
Steel wheels
8-3/4 rear
Full interior
Factory disc brakes

3,647lbs with a full tank of gas. I'd love to shave a few hundred pounds off, but it's okay for a streetcar

Here’s the ‘62 Savoy my Dad and I just bought this summer at Carlisle!!! Hope you all enjoy, there are some really nice cars pictured in this thread. And for those of you still working on yours good luck and I hope you get them done so you can enjoy them. We didn’t want or need a project. This is my first dab into the muscle car world and my dad hasn’t had one since the late sixties….let me know what you think

Perhaps looking at some ideas from the "The Elephant In The Room" thread in the race section may work in this push to remove some weight.
'62's are the hardest to lighten up because of the non-availablitlity of factory or aftermarket lightweight parts. The one advantage is that the '62's are relatively light right from Mother Mopar already.
'63's are not that hard to lighten up.
'64-'65's are the easiest because of the proliferation of factory and aftermarket lightweight parts that were common during the sports growing years.

On a budget? maybe 150 Lbs tops is the ceiling which also includes reversible extractions. A couple of months time.

Small to moderate budget? maybe 200-250 Lbs with hardly any reversals. A few to about 6 months time.

Decent budget? 375-450 Lbs. A couple of years to 5 years time.

Unlimited budget? 600 Lbs + It's more about time than money. 5-10 years in some cases.

Considering the age of this thread, surprised I didn’t post my ’63 in here, though have elsewhere. Here’s one from the World of Wheels show in Milwaukee 5-years ago. Invited by the body shop painting it to put it in their block. Took 1st place, but so few early B’s were in the show, lol.

Love the red stripe in the trim. Really sets the color off. (I might have considered redlines on the tires).
