Let's straighten something out today: What was the first and last year of the Sport Satellite model?

I agree except for the ads part. I said it was NEVER badged as such but in the car world I have heard MANY refer to it as such Satellite Sport in '67. Even in the original '67 ad they refer to it as a Satellite "sport" convertible. Like I said in my first post it was simply the beginning of when it shared the same level trim as a GTX in 68-70 and they badged it as such.

They even call it a Sport in the '67 ORIGINAL AD @ 4:08 in..

This is a 68 satellite we did for a customer few years back F8 .
He kept the 318 / 904 in it. But wanted all top edge trim gone. Did not add any clone emblems ect. Still had satellite on the glove box and fenders.
Typical Midwest b body job, qts & inner tubs, rear rails, trunk pan.
Rear cross. Front fender lower patch panels. Lucky the front rails and cross members were solid along with the pans, go figure. Also the top was still nice must have had a garage most of its life
I always liked this car when we finished it.
Owner was great to work with we had it 8 months. This thread made me look for the pics.View attachment 1798835View attachment 1798836

1967 Satellite could be a 2 door hardtop or a convertible.

Two models.

It could not be a 4 door, a 2 door sedan, or a wagon.

Interesting that you could get a 67 Coronet "WP41" 500 4 door, but not a Satellite "RP41" 4 door.

The Plymouth Sport Satellite was offered as a distinct model for model years 1968-1970.

In 1967, Satellite was coded in the premium price class, RP.

Some online sources mention a 1967 "Satellite Sport", but it's not listed in any of the factory sales documents, dealer price/code books, or parts catalogs that I have. It may have been a mid year release, dealer group offering, or a regional release.

In 1968, Satellite shifted to the high price class, RH, replacing Belvedere II which was classified as high in 1967. Sport Satellite, the new model, was now the premium classification, RP.

The premium classification, RP, continued for Sport Satellite in 1969 and 1970:

In 1969 and 1970, Sport Satellites also included 4-door sedans and wagons.

In 1971, Sport Satellite was dropped and replaced by Satellite Sebring, Brougham, and Regent, in the premium, RP, price class.
