Went out a few weeks ago and ran 9.42@144. Swapped valve bodys trying to cure a shift problem. Cured the 1/2 but not the 2/3. I'll be pulling the trans this week. Anyway ran 9.301 @144.29 yesterday. Still 1.37 60 ft. Made a shock adjustment and went 1.34 but the trans slipped on the 2/3. The first 1/8 was pretty encouraging at 5.91 @116.9. 1/4 speed a little low ,might have been lean as it was only 50 degrees. We'll try again in 2 weeks.

64 Belvedere 3320 w/driver,10.5x31 M/T, S&W ladder bar, 4.10 Dana, foot brake 727 w/9" ultimate converter. 572,MCH -1 Indys, 285/292@112,.799",14.7-1,Hooker 2 1/8", BME rods, Weisco flat top w/.043", T&D,Jesel, GZ pump, Indy 440-25 crossram, 2 eddy 750.
So far I've run 32 Degrees timing,10" vacuum, no carb pan. Once I get the trans and suspension sorted out we'll lay into the motor. Leaving at 2300, shifting at 6600.

dvw nice runs & combo already, I can't wait to see what it runs, when it's all sorted out, should fly, love the car.... what are your expectations ET/MPH/60ft etc. ?? I'm just curious...

Doug,

I thought you have a 64/65 Post Car I just couldn't remember exactly which one.

Nice clean car. Looking at it you wouldn't think it runs 9.30's. Thats impressive, I like it.

You're running 31-10.5W Mickeys.... What back spacking are you using? We're running 29.5-10.5 and I would like to go to the bigger tire.

You coming down to run the Curt George Memorial race in Salem Ohio in August?

I would like to be able to run the N/SS 9.25 AFX index. Eventually it sure would be nice to get a 8.99 but that's a ways off. The 10.5x31 will fit the stock wheel opening but it's very tight. Mine are stretched 4". I believe my back space is 4 1/2". I made my own width axle to fit the wheels. Its narrower than stock. I would love to go to Curt's race as he was a friend of mine. Just depends on scheduling and if the car stays together.

Sounds like it's going in the right direction for sure! Running as good as it looks! One thing aren't the calipers suppose to be mounted on the rear of the housing? Hope to see you at some of the N/SS races this season.

Though it really doesn't matter, they are on the back. That was a mock up picture.

I see what you did now. Thanks for the insight. I would like to run the 31's on ours but I don't think they're going to work.

As for N/SS if you put some weight in the car you could run the 9.75 class.

You have a really nice hot rod.

pictures do not do Doug's car justice, it is one top notch hot rod in person!

Thanks for the comments. As for index I'm shooting for 9.25, may have to settle for 9.50 until it's dialed. Just got the trans apart. The high gear clutch has been dragging and slipping. My experiment with the clutch pack didn't work. I'm ordering a new drum tomorrow. Also had the rear shocks reworked, way too stiff. Vacation with the family this weekend. Going to Stanton for Memorial day race. Looking for 9.20s, never know might be 9.60
