Lifter tick on fresh build

Which side is the 'Tick' on?. Remember the drivers side gets oil first then the passengers side.
It sounds like it's coming form both sides, more towards the rear of the engine, and maybe I f'd up cuase I didn't soak the lifters before installation, but I did prime rotate a number of times and even primed and rotated it several times before initial start up

So what's the conclusion on your preload settings.

Like I said before, don't know if you read the reply, but I believe I set the at .020" ,it's been over a year since I assembled it, I have only 30 mild miles on it, and with my job I am only home for about 20 hours total, so much time to mess with it yet, gotta spend time with family on my short time at, home. I'm going to check it when I get some time but I'm also kind a thinking the oil pump might be a issue as with a mechanical gauge it was only getting 40 to 45 psi ?

No, my bad. I was thinking of another lifter thread. Also I believe you're right , you should have more pressure. Take the pump off and check it out

I don't see any issue with a stock pump making 45 psi. 45psi Isn't causing a lifter tick.
