Lithium battery

I know you didn't ask me, but my Li-Titanate battery is still working great. KD, you should spend the $ and get one for your car. You'll really enjoy the starting power and light weight as you saw when you swapped my battery into your car. I have the XS Power XV2400 (group size 24). Be sure to order with included terminals or order the terminal separate (they screw in), as well as the special charger from XS power (smallest cheapest they offer is the one you need).
Thank you.
I am interested but I'll need one that is smaller in size than stock. I like the room in the engine bay with no battery there. If I could get one that is at least 1/3 smaller in each dimension, I could fit it in the stock location without it being in the way of the headlight relays, A/C hoses and the power steering cooler. I was quite impressed with the speed at which my engine spun over with your battery. I wonder if your version is a large case with a bit of dead space inside. In other words, with as small as many of these batteries are, is yours the size that it is only for appearances or is it needed for all the components inside? If it is meant to replicate the stock dimensions, I'd feel better about using one physically smaller.

Thank you.

this is group size 24. It should fit your stock location. If your relays, etc are taking up more room than stock, contact XS Power by phone and explain that this is not for running an audio system or RV accessories, but will be intended for engine starting. The XV2400 is specially designed to take an alternator charge. If you use any 'ol battery they offer, you risk damaging the battery with your alternator. These engine starting purpose Lithium Titanate batteries only became available a few years ago. Rick E had been waiting for it and wrote about it in Mopar Action, after which I ordered one. Give XS Power a call or email.

Oh, I know that the battery that you have would fit bit I've grown accustomed to the open space in my car where the battery used to be. I would be okay putting a battery back up front if it were smaller. My thoughts are that if these batteries are more efficient, they could be more compact.

Thank you.

Good question. Maybe also from a marketing standpoint to help a buyer feel they are getting their money's worth? :D
One day I will pop open this battery I now have to see what's inside, as the case doesn't appear to be an integral part of the battery.

Safety?

That is for wimps, man.....This country was founded on dangerous deeds and maneuvers.

I've only damaged 2 batteries to the point of rupture and one of them was when I jumped a car for a stunt in a home movie and the battery flew out of the car upon landing.
Been a long time since having a car with all 4's off the ground.....at least ones that weren't on jack stands. I twisted one car when I didn't hit the 'ramp' squarely and it came down on the right rear first. It surprised me that the windshield or back window didn't break or pop out. Jumped 4 different cars and never lost a battery out of one lol. Was yours not bolted down? However, did lose one in a pickup that I was off roading but it stayed in the vehicle but it did do damage to the radiator, fan and itself.

Why not!!!??
I recall a saying ...."you can't teach an old dog new tricks....' :D

Let's just say the score is tied at the top of the ninth, loaded bases, and the pitcher pops a fly-ball. Where do your hands go first?
