Just move on. That was not a good deal at all! If you are serious you need to commit. Sell your car outright and sit on the cash til the right car comes along. If your car is a 30k car that kind of cash will get you into a REAL Mopar muscle car. It will buy you a pretty nice Superbee. At the end of the day a clone is a clone. Nice for having fun but the value will never be the same. Stuff away a few Benjamins a month while you are waiting and next thing you know your in a better car. Takes patience...

If you're planning ahead of cloning a Super Bee they came both post and hardtop.

Cash is king. If you can't float the money to buy the Mopar you want until you sell the Goat, then the smart thing is to sell the Gto and go shopping with cash in hand for a car.
There are very few true Mopar owners that would do an even value trade of your Gto for a Mopar (we're sick that way!) unless they are a flipper looking to make out and you don't know what you are really getting then. Making a cash offer is always the best way to get a sellers attention. If you find the right car for the right price but don't have the cash until you sell your Gto, you'll probably lose the car because if it's right for you, it's probably right for some other guys who have cash in hand. JMHO.

I like the rake. It looks good...but would need to see more pics, and see it in person for sure. In my way of thinking for that prices it better not need a thing, and be a solid car.

"not a show car" could be a red flag......... you have to make sure it isn't a rotted out bondo buggy, especially from that area of the country

I would say buyer beware. But if you check it out and find it to be solid, I think it has potential. Would look better if lowered 4 to 5 inches in the rear.

My advice... follow your heart. I agree that the GTO is probably valued higher, but if you truly love the Coronet/Super Bee body style, sell the Goat outright, and seek your Coronet. My 68 Coronet is/was originally a 318 with a 904, but I'm slowly making it my own... high back buckets, built 360, 4 spd, and downright beautiful. Love your car, name your car, be happy.

Just bought my first classic mopar. I've owned 2 modern challengers (currently have a sublime green 15 scat pack), but somewhere along the line fell in love with 68-70 B bodies. Took a year but 2 weeks ago I found a 69 Coronet 500 318 auto (#'s matching) with bucket seats/console, black vinyl top, chrome/black trim bottom. 51k miles. Engine, trans and rear end rebuilt 5k miles ago. But most importantly to me was this sucker was clean. Very little surface rust and the chassis was solid. Saw no signs of patches, etc. It was in Canada, so I had to import, but got it for 15,500 usd. If that helps value the one you're looking at. I got the 500 instead of getting a superbee or rr cuz i plan to mod it to the way i want it anyway and didn't wnt to feel "feel bad" anytime i did anything that hurt the originality (and value) of a real bee. I also love the trim with the chrome and black on the bottom. Hate the paint, so that's first. Going with a Pontiac white that i saw on a gto that seemed perfect. Dropped her off yesterday for paint, body work and putting a scoop on the flat hood. then my guy is putting on tints and custom stripes. Building a 500-600hp 440 stroker that gets 15 for it, disc brakes, chassis strengthening, suspension, new dash, steering wheel, etc. Already has new 500 magnum 15's on all 4 corners so keeping those. In the end I'll likely spend 30k and have the car looking superbeeish, but more modern and FUN! Might even do a super hero theme car... Point is, as much as I'd like an original #'s 69 1/2 six pack car, I'd rather have something i can do whatever i want with without feeling like I'm destroying value with every mod and mile. I want a driver i can scare the hell outta my girl with anytime the mood strikes ;) and bring to shows and truly be a 1 of 1 "fun " car that will make dad's drool and kids go "that's cool!" So, if you really want a real superbee, sell the gto and scour the earth til u find it otherwise find a good starting point and do whatever makes u happy. If that's this 500, then make it work. Here's where I'm starting
