Looking for any feedback on a 572” Keith Black Wedge.

Been thinking about building or getting another short block built for my car and was thinking about going aftermarket and was just going to throw all my top end stuff on it. Anyone on here know much of anything about these Keith Black Wedge Engines. I did contact them and we had a good talk. The only thing he recommended me to do with my top end is to throw away the hydraulic rollers lifters and run solid rollers. He also told me to send him my stuff and he’d run it on the dyno.

I concur with having it broke in on a dyno. I also recommend using bushed solid rollers.

Its the best block available. I'd love to have one. But they're not cheap.

They're what, $2,000 more than a Callies? Everything is so expensive now it doesn't seem so bad. At the NHRA race this weekend a bottle of water was $5.99.

The guy I talked to at Keith Black even said I could save a few dollars if I went with Callie’s but I guess it’s an Iron block which I guess would be ok. He just said this would be a block for life with awesome street manners. He said it would calm my cam down, give me a bunch more vacuum and I’d never have to worry about a rear main seal leak again and I do plan on keeping this car. Just looking for a big “

Solid rollers might be better but if you're happy with your hydraulic cam and roller lifters I don't see why you need to change. I guess I don't see how it's going to calm your cam down or give you more vacuum. I just like them. But I don't mind the Callies either. But I think I liked blocks more when they were $200.

I have 3 KB aluminum Hemi (not Wedge) blocks. They are very nice pieces for sure.

OK, I get it now, for some reason I thought he had a 572 now and was just wanting a new short block.

Callies and Bill Mitchell iron blocks $5900. Indy aluminum block $7300. Kieth Black aluminum $8000. Then add to that to how much machine work is needed?

Using one for now as a mock up/display piece in my Racement (racing themed basement). Another one out on the shelves in the garage. The third is buried behind some other blocks out in the garage as well.
