I'm looking for some advice. I'm in the middle of a stroker for my 64 polara and looking for some input on transmissions beef up parts. I see that monster transmission make a monster in a box kit for 750hp. Does anyone have experience with this kit? My engine builder can do transmissions as well and told me to stay away from Kevlar bands and clutches because they require higher line pressure and the 727 doesn't really like high line pressure. He said to try to find a one piece band and clutches in semi metallic. I would like a hole kit with new accumulators, seals, bushings and shift kit all in one and can't find one. What have you guys done with your transmissions? My car will be a aggressive street car and I don't want a manual valve body thanks guys.

Monster seems to get a lot of attention, if they have a total package with that stuff I wouldn’t hesitate.

We did a rebuild on mine with parts from TransGo. Our goal was a stock rebuild with a little extra bite. No high HP stroker here.

Alto sells a nice one as does A and A and Cope Racing.

Trans parts on line. The Cal Deluxe kit with the green frictions will do a good job. I've run this stuff to 10.0 ET. If you want upgrade you can piece together a kit with Alto Frictions and Kolene steels. I like the solid red kick down band better but they are getting pretty pricey. While your at it order their deep pan Pan (NEW) (3.15" Deep) (62-Up) A518, A727 image #765 Item #A22765B, $36
You need 4 clutch frictions in the front drum, New stocker 4 plate drums are $68. Besides a good valve body that'll do it. If your shy about the front drum it can be replaced but a good one is $650. Run a 3.8 or higher KD lever, .010"-015" clearance per friction in the front clutch, rear clutch .025"-.040". Thin pin KD servo with inner and outer springs. Modify the reaction shaft feed passage per CRT instructions with a cut -off wheel. This set-up will go for years in a low 10 second car. Use Alto's, Kolene's, solid red band, a good drum and you can go 9.0's.

DVW is that stock line pressure?
To be honest I've never checked it. All my stuff runs Turbo Action Reverse manual valve body's. I believe they're set at 105psi.
