Losing weight on your b-body ??

I have been weight conscious of my street/strip 69 roadrunner for some time now. So far I have removed the hood hinges and installed a lift off hood, aluminum water pump housing, and I removed the heater box and wiper motor. The only thing left I really want to do is install some aluminum heads.

I am thinking about going on a diet. loose ten lbs would be better for me also. 10 lbs off a already trimmed down could put you in the winners circle.

Funny how few people ever consider that...

Many consider it. For many, it's very difficult. So much so, they make their cars lighter with money.

I went from 201 to 184. Every little bit helps looking for that 8

It has been suggested that I could lose 15 lbs of ugly fat by cutting off my head.

What does a heater box weigh?
How much less is a lightweight Kirkey Aluminum seat compared to a pair of stock buckets?
This is my next plan.
Still thinking on a glass hood too.

The heater box in my '63 Dodge was 25 lbs.

Factory 64 Belvedere hood, 58, hinges 13pr, front bench 85, deck lid 58, front bumper 23. Rear bumper 26, bumper brackets 23, loaded sedan door 78. Glass hood 21, carbon fiber brackets 2.5, clone seats 36pr, remove regultors and inner door skin w/lexan side and rear -84 (stock eindshield)

This is at 4100, so if I could knock off 300 + that should put me south of 10.50's!

The Kirkeys are light as a feather compared to the factory buckets. A pair of those and a lift off glass hood would be quite a weight savings. Nice time slip by the way!

Have the Kirkey. Hope to have it installed this week then test and tune on Friday if weather cooperates.

Hey Fellas, I wish I could start all over again, but there is simply too much to address and show when it comes to weight loss. As was stated on here earlier, there are countless ideas that can be looked up on the net. My car has been an experiment at first, gone art second and color me gone third.

I haven't been racing for about a month but, this Wednesday night I am going. I have been taking care of my sister and most medical issues had been on my race day. The good news is my car will be 10 lbs lighter.
I took on a diet that helped me lose the weight. I actually feel better but, I miss my carbs. One thing I didnt not give up is wine. So so far its a win win for me 6 lbs to go.

That will be 10 lbs less that the car has to lug, but it will not bare fruit till you go quite a few pounds more on the car itself. That being said, it does help to have less weight on oneself for better health to bare witness of the affects on the cars weight loss..

If you are bracket racing, weight doesn't matter. Consistency does.
If you are racing heads-up, you are 3 seconds and $100,000 dollars short of it mattering.

Well that's all good and true. I guess I'm just feeling better about me. I guess it's like washing your car and it feels faster.

Aluminum blocks are really not that much for what you get. That will save 130lbs

That's my gf weight. Rather have her in the car than not
