lost my dad yesterday

I usually don't talk about personal issues but guys I lost my dad yesterday unexpectedly and it's really got me down. My dad was 69 he was as honest of a man as they come. He drove a 18 wheeler for 38 years. He would have been married to my mom for 50 years in two weeks. I could always count on him for anything I needed. We went to cars shows and worked on cars together since I was about 10. I just can never see how I can ever feel the same again. When we were at car shows and someone would ask him questions about the 66 he would point at me and tell them that's the man that built the car. I was proud he was proud of me. I have never been this down before.

I know how you feel ga66mopar . . . I lost my dad just over a year ago and it too was very unexpected. Today would have been his 76th birthday.

For a week after losing him - the guys at the office left me alone, I could not even talk - the pain was so great.

Hang tough and keep your chin up - as a human, you need your time to grieve, and you need to do it. Yes it hurts - we all have to endure this loss.

A day doesn't go by that I don't think about my dad and miss him - I'll always miss him . . .

Sorry to hear about your Dad. We lost ours back in August 2012, and not a SINGLE day goes by that I do not think about him.
Hang in there. Things will get better in time, but they will never be quite the same. I found that keeping busy keeps your mind preoccupied so it helps a little.
