On a 68 Charger 440, am installing Magnaflows 2.5” system….the crossover with short “elbows” go to the collectors… passenger side lines up fine, drivers side- the header collector misses by 2”! It doesn’t even line up with the “cutout” in the frame!
Anyone else experience this? Can the header be “bent” towards the center of the car ? I despise having to use a piece of flex pipe….

Pictures would be helpful but not surprising it doesn't line up. I've had same results with other brands. You may have to fab a piece to make the connection. Sorry I couldn't be any help, ruffcut

No worries! I have the very same deal with my 73 y/o knees! Best of luck.

Knees here too. Did both almost a year ago one and on the other 6 months. Heal good brother and don’t over do it

Headers can be tweaked or adjusted by several means. I looped a ratchet strap around the collector and the opposite side torsion bar and started cranking. The header will spring back a little when the tension is removed, but it moves.

No damage to the ceramic coating either…

Seems like a lot of stress on the mounting bolts at an aluminum cylinder head?

Seems like it would take serious pulling on those 4 primaries to tweak the outlet over….

I have done the ratchet strap from header to torsion bar as well, and with aluminum heads. I doubt you will get 2 inches without some destruction, but they will move easier than you think.

I fudged my TTIs left side with a 4' piece of 3" sch 40 pipe and gained some but, no way were they going to line up with the cross member notches. I fabbed some "adapters" to fit my needs.

So you did strap it with aluminum heads? No damage?

Jmho but don't try to move / bend the header 2" .
Get a piece of pipe bent that fits and splice it into the the pipe.

headman makes an offset pipe kit . i use to use them just for this issue . summit racing carries them . search headman S bend exhaust pipes

Bending header 2" seems like a lot? Afraid it might warp flabge, if they have a 3/8" flange maybe OK. Wish there pictures but I know bad knees well.

I wanna thank ALL replies and suggestions. I’ve completed a “temporary fix” by installing a piece of flex pipe to complete the exhaust system. My knees are swollen, my shoulder feels dislocated, but the exhaust is done for now, until i get the car running to bring to exhaust shop for a “more better” , proper fix!!!
Too old for this crap with no lift!!!! LOL
