hello, I purchased 2 3" magnaflow stainless mufflers " pn 12229" that are 14" long and basisicly straight through with just an s bend inside them, are these gonna get me tickets you think? haven't put the exhaust on yet and just wondering if I should go with 2 20" or longer muffler right off the bat? I will have electric cutouts so I want something that doesn't piss the neibhors off too bad but yet sounds good! going to be on a supercharged 500" stroker

The real key to a more quiet exhaust system is the SIZE OF THE EXHAUST PIPES FROM THE HEADERS BACK TO WHERE THEY EXIT THE CAR.
I have the 14" long Magnaflows (19' overall length, 14' body length) with 3" exhaust system from the header collectors all the back to where they "dump". They really sound nice...but...if you want "quiet" then you have to go with maximum 2 1/4" system after the collector and then 2" after the mufflers to really quiet it down. You will lose some horsepower but it will be quiet and not wake up neighbors at 8am. You can open your cutouts for that...lol.
